Choose the Right Services for Your Boat

Protect high-contact finishes, make the cabin more comfortable, refresh the exterior or simplify routine care. We help you compare marine PPF, window tinting, vinyl wrapping and ceramic coating, then match each service to the areas where it makes sense.

Your quote reflects the chosen services, coverage, condition, preparation and access. Start with your boat and what you want to improve. Exact measurements, photographs and a finished service plan are optional at the first inquiry.

Marine Paint Protection Film

A clear, replaceable film that helps protect selected above-waterline finishes and contact areas from light scuffs and everyday abrasion. We plan coverage, edges and seams around the areas you want to protect.

Marine Ceramic Coating

Improve water repellency and make routine washing easier on suitable prepared finishes. The coating is selected for the surface and does not provide the physical wear layer of PPF.

A straightforward next step

From Your First Question to the Finished Work

Preparation, coverage planning and careful fitting are part of the result. We account for surface condition, curves, seams, hardware and access so the selected products fit the vessel and come with clear care instructions.

  1. Share the basics

Describe the vessel, project goal and general area. Unknown information is welcome.

  2. Clarify the next review

We identify useful photos, material questions and any inspection, measurement or sample needs. Private records are shared through an agreed process.

  3. Review the proposal

Confirm products, areas, preparation, design when needed, price, responsibilities and timing before work is scheduled.

  4. Prepare, Install and Inspect

We prepare the approved surfaces and work area, install the selected products, inspect the finish and coverage, and explain curing, cleaning and future-service requirements.

Know what you are approving

What Your Written Proposal Defines

The work and products

Areas, quantities, products, coverage boundaries, preparation, design approval, seams, edges, exclusions and optional work.

Price and responsibilities

The agreed price, applicable charges, owner and site responsibilities, installation setting, equipment and services controlled by others.

Timing and ownership

Scheduling assumptions, drying or curing, handoff, care, future service and the applicable product and workmanship documents.

Any charges for consultation, travel, samples, testing or site visits are explained before scheduling. If conditions or requested work change, we review any effect on the price or timing with you before proceeding.

Coordinate access and the season

Plan Beyond the Installation Hours

Working time is only part of a marine project. Access windows, design approval, preparation, drying or curing, weather, other trades and launch readiness can affect the total duration.

Confirm the work setting

Marina, yard, dealer, storage-site and dockside work depend on permission, conditions and availability. No location or mobile service is automatically confirmed.

Assign outside responsibilities

Hauling, blocking, lifts, stands, storage, launching and work by other providers remain separate unless the written proposal expressly assigns them.

Protect the return to use

Treat launch, travel or seasonal dates as requested timing until confirmed. Keep transport, covering, fueling and other finish-sensitive work aligned with the handoff.

Normal vinyl-wrap installation requires the vessel out of the water, dry, stable and properly supported. PPF, coating and glazing work each need their own setting review; that wrap rule is not a blanket requirement for every service.

Keep each service’s records

Care and Warranty Stay Product-Specific

PPF, window film, vinyl and coating have different cure, cleaning, inspection, removal and warranty requirements. Combined work does not create one blanket warranty or a universal service-life promise. Keep each area’s exact product, preparation, installation, care and incident records.

Film and vinyl can have seams and visible transitions; coating can still spot or scratch; window film must preserve visibility. Proper washing, drying, docking, storage and maintenance remain part of ownership.

Marine FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does marine protection cost?

Marine work is vessel-specific and quote-only. Price depends on the exact service, product, surfaces, coverage, condition, preparation, geometry, access, location, installation environment, third-party requirements, and schedule basis.

Do you publish a price per foot?

We quote the areas and work involved rather than vessel length alone. Two boats of the same length can have different hull shapes, window layouts, preparation needs and installation access.

Can you quote a marine project from photos?

Photos can establish a preliminary direction and identify missing information. A final project plan may still require measurements, surface review, glazing verification, samples, access confirmation, or an in-person inspection.

Is an in-person inspection required?

It depends on the vessel and service. Complex condition, uncertain materials, glazing, broad coverage, custom design, combined services, difficult access, or a marina or yard setting may require inspection or measurement before a final proposal.

Does the boat need to be out of the water?

For normal Marine wrap installation, the vessel must be out of the water, dry, stable and properly supported. Other services require their own access, movement, environmental and installation-setting review. Hauling, blocking and yard services are separate responsibilities.

Do you work at marinas or boatyards?

A marina, yard, dealer, storage, or other site may be evaluated. Permission, insurance, access, equipment, utilities, work area, weather protection, safety, schedule, and current service availability must be confirmed in writing.

Can the work be completed outdoors or at a dock?

Do not assume it can. Moisture, salt, dust, wind, rain, sun, temperature, humidity, vessel movement, access, lighting, contamination, safety, and cure requirements can make an outdoor or dockside installation unsuitable.

Do you install below the waterline?

No below-waterline film, wrap, or coating service should be inferred from this page. Exact approved products and written project plan control every application. Bottom paint, antifouling, barrier coating, and underwater repair are separate marine disciplines.

Can film or coating go over oxidized or damaged gelcoat?

Not automatically. Oxidation, chalking, cracks, crazing, failed clear, repairs, contamination, corrosion, and other unstable conditions can prevent installation or require correction by an appropriate provider before review continues.

Can marine services be combined?

Yes, when the products are compatible with the intended surfaces and with one another. We coordinate preparation and installation sequence while keeping each service’s coverage, care and warranty requirements distinct.

Is marine vinyl wrap the same as paint protection film?

No. Vinyl wrap is primarily used for color, graphics, and appearance. Paint protection film is a thicker physical protection layer intended for compatible approved surfaces. Neither product is impact-proof or a repair.

Is ceramic coating a substitute for PPF?

No. Ceramic coating is a thin treatment that may support hydrophobic behavior and easier routine care on approved surfaces. It does not provide the physical separation or thickness of PPF.

Can tint be installed on every marine window?

No. The exact glazing material, construction, coatings, curve, condition, frame, access, visibility needs, product, and manufacturer guidance must be reviewed before compatibility is confirmed.

Does marine protection prevent fading or oxidation?

No service should be presented as preventing all fading or oxidation. Exposure, surface condition, ultraviolet radiation, heat, salt, contamination, care, storage, and product limits still matter.

Is there a warranty?

Warranty coverage depends on the exact product, vessel area, surface, installation, customer, use, care, records, registration, and current written terms. The XPEL Marine Product Warranty page and project documents should control applicable details.

How long does marine protection last?

There is no universal service-life promise across PPF, window film, vinyl, and coating. Exact product, surface, exposure, use, storage, horizontal or vertical orientation, cleaning, care, damage, and environment affect performance.

How long does installation take?

Timing depends on review, measurements, design, products, preparation, access, other trades, vessel status, installation environment, cure, inspection, and current scheduling. The written proposal provides the applicable schedule basis.

Do you offer standardized marine packages?

We build marine proposals around your boat and priorities. You can choose a single service or coordinate several, with the coverage, preparation and price clearly set out.
