Protect the Finish. Simplify the Maintenance.

Road film, pollen, bugs and everyday driving can quickly take away that freshly detailed appearance. Professionally installed XPEL FUSION PLUS ceramic coating helps water and ordinary contamination release more easily, making routine washing and drying less work.

At Kickin' Customs, we carefully prepare the surface before coating it and match the product to your vehicle's finish, whether that's glossy paint, matte paint or compatible PPF.

Ceramic coating is a liquid-applied treatment that cures into a thin, transparent surface layer over suitable paint or compatible paint protection film. It improves water behavior, surface slickness and ease of cleaning. On a vehicle with PPF, the coating sits above the film while the film retains its physical protective role.

Easier Washing and Drying

Water beads and releases more readily from a properly coated surface, helping make routine rinsing, washing and drying easier.

Gloss That Suits the Finish

On gloss paint and gloss PPF, a suitable coating can enhance color depth and reflections. Matte and satin finishes use a coating selected to preserve their low sheen.

Everyday Environmental Resistance

Helps ordinary bugs, road film, pollen and seasonal residue release more easily during proper cleaning. Prompt cleanup and ongoing maintenance still matter.

Choose Ceramic Coating for Your Vehicle’s Finish

Gloss Paint and Gloss PPF

A compatible coating supports gloss, color depth and easier cleaning on either surface. We polish suitable paint according to the package and prepare PPF using film-appropriate methods. The film retains its separate physical protective role.

Matte Paint and Satin PPF

FUSION PLUS SATIN is designed for suitable low-sheen finishes, including XPEL STEALTH. We clean and prepare without conventional gloss-paint polishing.

Existing or Other-Brand PPF

We identify the film and review its age, topcoat, previous treatments and condition before recommending a coating. Staining, lifting edges, adhesive problems or heavy wear may need attention before coating.

Matte paint or satin PPF? FUSION PLUS SATIN preserves the intended low sheen of suitable matte or satin paint and XPEL STEALTH PPF, with no conventional gloss polishing. Its four-year limited warranty names eligible satin vehicle paint; PPF coverage must be confirmed separately. Check SATIN’s covered surfaces.

Warranty coverage depends on the product, eligible surface and required care. A warranty term is not a promise of unchanged performance for that many years. Compare the XPEL coating products.

Preparation That Brings Out the Best in Your Finish

New paint is not always ready to coat, and older paint does not always need aggressive correction. We inspect your paint and any existing film, then recommend preparation that makes a worthwhile improvement while preserving the finish.

The Finish Comes First

The coating is the protective surface, but the preparation determines the appearance beneath it. We inspect your vehicle, refine suitable glossy paint according to the selected package, and prepare PPF or matte finishes using methods appropriate to those materials. The result is an installation built around your actual finish, not simply a coating applied over whatever condition arrives at the shop.

  1. Inspect and Prepare

Review the finish, previous treatments and any existing film. Hand wash, remove appropriate contamination and prepare the selected surfaces.

  2. Refine and Coat

Complete the polishing included in the chosen package where suitable, then apply the coating to a clean, properly prepared surface. Matte finishes and PPF receive preparation appropriate to those materials.

  3. Cure and Check

Allow the coating to set according to the product and process, inspect the finished work and explain the care needed after pickup.

Infrared-Assisted Curing

Controlled infrared heat can support the initial curing stage of compatible ceramic coatings when appropriate for the product and surface. IR-assisted curing is included with Signature and Signature Complete where appropriate. Availability for other coating installations is confirmed with your quote.

Deep damage, missing paint or failing film may require separate repair rather than additional polishing. Learn how we assess and correct paint.

Ceramic Coating and PPF Do Different Jobs

Coating helps with water behavior and easier cleaning. Paint protection film provides a separate physical layer over covered areas. Coating does not make the vehicle scratch-proof or replace PPF’s impact protection.

Paint and PPF Ceramic Coating FAQs

How much does ceramic coating for paint and PPF cost?

Our recommended Plus Protection package for suitable glossy paint starts at $1,795 and takes approximately 2 to 3 days. It includes one-step polishing and FUSION PLUS CLASSIC. Your vehicle, finish, existing film and required preparation determine the final quote. Compare Ceramic Coating Packages and Pricing.

Can ceramic coating be applied over existing paint protection film?

Yes, when the coating is compatible with the film. We check its type, age, condition and previous treatments before recommending preparation. Coating can improve water behavior and ease of cleaning while the film keeps its separate physical protective role.

Does ceramic coating replace PPF or prevent chips and scratches?

No. Coating helps with surface behavior and easier care; it does not provide a rock-chip barrier or make the vehicle scratch-proof. PPF is the separate physical protection option for covered areas. Compare PPF and coating if physical protection is your priority.

Can ceramic coating be used on matte paint or satin PPF?

Yes, with a product suited to that finish. FUSION PLUS SATIN is intended for suitable low-sheen paint and XPEL STEALTH PPF without intentionally adding gloss. We avoid conventional gloss polishing. Its written warranty names eligible satin vehicle paint, so film coverage must be confirmed separately. Review covered surfaces.

Does my paint need polishing before ceramic coating?

We inspect it first. Even new paint can have wash marks, residue or dealer-preparation defects. Polishing can improve suitable glossy paint, and final surface preparation removes residue so the coating can bond properly. Coating itself does not remove swirls. Matte finishes and PPF need material-specific preparation. Learn about paint correction.

Can ceramic coating still get water spots?

Yes. Mineral-heavy water can leave deposits or staining when it dries, even on a surface that beads well. Proper drying and prompt care help; persistent spots need assessment. Water spots are excluded from XPEL’s published coating warranty.

How long does the coating last, and is that the same as its warranty?

Warranty length and expected performance are different. LITE has a one-year limited term, CLASSIC four years and PREMIUM eight years on eligible surfaces. SATIN’s four-year written term names eligible satin vehicle paint. Actual performance depends on the surface, use, exposure and care. Check the terms for your installed product and surface.

When can I wash the vehicle, and can I use an automatic car wash?

For coated paint and compatible PPF, our shop guidance is no washing for seven days and gentle handling for approximately two to three weeks, subject to your pickup instructions. Follow the initial dry period and contact us promptly about harmful contamination. Once washing is permitted, careful hand washing is preferred; automatic brushes can still scratch. Read the paint and PPF care guidance.

Can old or damaged PPF be coated?

Sometimes. Sound film may be cleaned, prepared and coated after assessment. Coating cannot repair lifting edges, adhesive failure, deep damage, contamination beneath the film or a failing installation. We may recommend addressing the film first.

What happens if a coated PPF panel is replaced?

The replacement film normally needs its own preparation and coating to restore consistent surface behavior. Reapplication is separately quoted unless included in the agreed work, and it does not restart the original warranty period.

Can ceramic coating be removed?

On suitable glossy paint, coating can commonly be reduced or removed through polishing. PPF and matte or satin finishes need individual assessment because aggressive polishing can damage the material or change its sheen. Contact us before trying to strip or polish those surfaces.
