XPEL VISION Architectural Window Film Warranty

Have a concern with your installed film? Find out what to do now, which records help and how to request a warranty review.

Start here

Protect the area. Gather what you know.

Do not alter the area

Pause cleaning, peeling, scraping, pressing or repairs that could change the condition.

Put safety first

Keep people away from broken or unstable glass. Use appropriate emergency, property or glass support.

Find your records

Look for the invoice, product name, installation date, warranty and care handoff. Missing details do not prevent an inquiry, but may limit what available records can verify.

Take safe photos

Show the affected window and its edges only from safe positions. Do not touch damage for a closer view.

Request a review

Tell us what changed and when. We will explain which records and any inspection are needed.

Four separate coverage layers

Which type of coverage might apply?

XPEL limited product warranty

The exact written XPEL product warranty says which failures may qualify, what is excluded and what approval is required. Some applicable warranties also include conditional coverage for broken glass or failure of the seal between glass panes.

Optional XPEL extended coverage

This is a separate program for qualifying, documented projects. Check whether it was actually offered, approved and issued for your installation, and whether it applies to this problem.

Kickin’ Customs installation coverage

Our installation coverage follows the separate written terms issued for your project. It does not automatically have the same duration or remedies as the XPEL product warranty.

Glass, building conditions or another party

A problem with glass, seals, frames, cleaning, impact, building work or another contractor is not automatically a film defect. It may need a different repair, insurance or responsibility review.

Residential and commercial terms can differ. Interior, exterior, decorative, safety/security and anti-graffiti products can have different conditions. A product category, film thickness or visible symptom does not establish coverage.

When records do not establish coverage, the status is not confirmed. It is not automatically covered or denied.

Describe the change

A symptom is a starting point, not a diagnosis.

What you seeWhat helps the review
Bubbles, haze, rippling or unusual distortionInstallation date, drying guidance, progression, lighting, affected location and safe photos. Cure moisture and other conditions must be distinguished from a defined product failure.
Lifting, peeling, separating film layers or color changesThe exact product and written terms, edge condition, appearance history and any cleaning, contaminants or nearby work. Cracking or loss of the film’s metallic layer, called demetallization, also needs review for the exact product.
Scratches, impact, chemical or water damageThe incident history, materials affected and immediate safety concerns. Film, glass, seal, frame, cleaning, building work and vandalism may involve different responsibilities.
A seam, edge or mismatchThe accepted sample/proof or finishing detail, adjacent panes and whether the appearance has changed. Photos alone may not establish cause or coverage.

Vandalism is not automatically a product defect. Anti-graffiti replacement and security-film breakage are not automatically warranty work. Do not remove the film to investigate.

Keep glass and film coverage distinct

Detailed warranty questions

Broken glass and failed window seals

Standard film coverage does not automatically mean every glass break or failure of the seal between glass panes is covered. Applicable XPEL documents can contain conditional coverage for specific situations, with eligibility rules, exclusions and approval requirements. Optional extended coverage is a separate question.

Check the exact issued warranty and any extended-coverage record, along with the glass construction, dimensions, coatings, shading, condition, installation side and manufacturer approval. Do not treat an undocumented benefit as confirmed.

Match the record to the installation

Check the written coverage for your installation.

Which product and project records matter?

Keep the specification, current applicable XPEL warranty, film-to-glass guidance, written approvals, proposal, invoice and installation record together. A general marketing summary does not replace the coverage actually issued for your project.

  • Exact film, category, region and interior or exterior placement.
  • Property use, installation date, applicable duration and start event.
  • Glass construction, size, condition, shading, edges and attachment where relevant.
  • The defined covered failure, exclusions, remedy and required review route.

Product offerings and documents can change. Current or retired product status, approved glass and professional installation may matter. We confirm a term only after matching the product and written warranty that applies to your installation.

What happens after you contact us?

Information first. A written decision after review.

Send the known details

Describe the concern and available records.

Review the record

Identify the installation and applicable terms.

Inspect if needed

Assess the site condition or request more evidence.

Confirm the review route

Kickin’ Customs and XPEL, where applicable.

Receive written direction

An actual written decision identifies any approved remedy.

This explains the review process. It is not a live claim tracker or an approval of your property.

The next step may be more records, an inspection, manufacturer review, another trade or a paid service option. No response or replacement date is promised. Being outside warranty coverage does not mean there is no useful next step.

Understand the possible outcome

Understand what coverage does not automatically include.

Exclusions, replacement and other limits
  • No universal lifetime term, glass coverage, insulated-seal coverage or free vandalism replacement.
  • No automatic reimbursement, cash settlement, replacement of an entire glass wall or building face or matching of unaffected panes.
  • No automatic warranty restart after replacement or universal transferability.
  • Removal, reinstallation, access equipment, glass/frame replacement and consequential loss depend on the applicable written terms.

A current replacement for discontinued or aged film may differ in appearance or performance. Review the written replacement plan before work begins. Renovation or voluntary removal is not automatically a covered failure. We explain the appropriate review or service route once the relevant facts are known.

Share only what is needed

Keep photos useful and records private.

A safe wide view identifies the opening. If safe, include the affected detail, edge, corner, frame, seal and adjacent pane. Record when it began, progression, recent cleaning, impact, weather, leaks, nearby heat or building work.

Avoid people, private interiors and unnecessary security details. Invoices, addresses, tenant details, insurance records and incident media belong in an agreed follow-up channel, not public links or galleries. The form starts the conversation; file transfer is arranged afterward. Where safe and practical, keep removed materials, reports and invoices for review.

Owner questions

A few useful answers.

Does Every XPEL VISION Film Have the Same Warranty?

No. Coverage depends on the exact product and written terms for your project. Property type, inside or outside placement, glass, approvals, region and issue date can matter.

Is Every XPEL VISION Installation Covered for Life?

No. The written warranty sets the term. Home and business installations, inside and outside products, and different film categories can have different coverage. A general product-family description does not establish yours.

What Types of Film Problems May Be Covered?

The exact warranty lists qualifying failures. Depending on the product, these may include color changes, peeling, bubbling, rippling, cracking or separation of film layers (delamination). Some terms address loss of a metallic layer (demetallization). A symptom still needs review.

Are Bubbles Always a Warranty Problem?

No. Temporary installation moisture can look different from a product or adhesive failure. We review when it appeared, whether it is changing and the installation and drying conditions before deciding what it means.

Are Scratches Covered?

Not automatically. Scratches from cleaning, scraping, vandalism, impact or another physical event are not automatically product defects. Leave the area unchanged where safe and ask for the appropriate review.

Is Broken Glass Automatically Covered?

No. Some applicable standard XPEL terms include conditional glass-breakage coverage, but not every event or film-and-glass combination qualifies. The exact warranty, approvals, cause and exclusions must be checked. Optional extended coverage is a separate record.

Is Insulated-Glass Seal Failure Automatically Covered?

No. A failure of the seal between glass panes needs its own review. Some applicable standard XPEL terms include conditional coverage, but the original window warranty, eligible glass, approvals, cause and exclusions matter. Any optional extended coverage must be confirmed separately.

Should I Remove the Film Before an Inspection?

No, unless immediate safety or written direction requires it. Removing film can change the evidence and affect eligibility. Take photos only if safe and contact Kickin’ Customs first.

Does Cleaning Affect the Warranty?

It can. Unsuitable cleaners, grit, blades, abrasives, adhesives or coatings can damage film and affect the review. Follow the exact care instructions for your installation.

Does Replacement Restart the Warranty?

Do not assume so. The applicable written warranty determines whether replacement remains within the original period or receives different treatment.

How Do I Start a Warranty Review?

Tell us the installation address, approximate date, affected area and what changed. Gather the product name, invoice, warranty and safe photos if available. We will ask for any additional records, event history or inspection needed. You do not need every record to begin.
