Gloss blue finish illustration on the same car

Gloss

A shiny, reflective look with plenty of depth. Choose it if you enjoy a polished appearance; water spots and wash marks can show.

Satin black finish illustration on the same car

Satin

Soft reflections that bring out the car’s shape. Use care products made for the finish and avoid polishing it.

Matte military green finish illustration on the same car

Matte

A flatter look with very little reflection. Rubbing and unsuitable products can leave shiny patches.

Metallic purple finish illustration on the same car

Metallic / Pearl

A hint of sparkle and depth as the light moves across the body. Compare a sample in sunlight and shade.

Red-black color shift finish illustration on the same car

Color Shift

A color that changes as you move around the car. Check the effect on a real sample before deciding.

Specialty Finishes

A chrome effect, texture, or another unusual look can make a strong statement. Some cost more, need extra care, or have a shorter useful life.

KNOW THE FINISHED LOOK

What actually gets wrapped?

A full color change covers the visible exterior panels listed in your quote. We’ll walk through the coverage with you before booking so you know what changes and what stays original.

Standard Exterior Color Change

Your quote identifies the body panels, preparation, agreed trim removal, installation, and final inspection included in the job.

Additional Hidden Areas

Door jambs and hidden areas are not automatically included. The old color may still show when a door, hood, or trunk is open.

Around curves and edges

Textured plastics and rubber may stay original. Some tight areas need a planned seam or a separate piece of film, and those joins can be visible up close.

START WITH THE CAR YOU HAVE

What if my paint isn’t perfect?

Sound factory paint

Good factory paint is normally the most predictable starting point. Small chips, scratches, and dents can still show through because vinyl follows what is underneath.

Paint that needs repair

Peeling clear coat, rust, heavy chips, and loose bodywork may need repair first. A wrap changes the look of the car; it does not repair damaged paint.

Past work on the car

Tell us about repainted panels, fresh paint, body repairs, ceramic coating, or an existing wrap. We’ll check what preparation is needed and whether the paint is ready.

KNOW THE NEXT STEPS

How long will my car be here?

CHOOSE AROUND YOUR MAIN GOAL

Vinyl, paint, or Color PPF?

I want a new look.

Vinyl offers a broad choice of colors and finishes without repainting the body. You can plan to change or remove it later, with removal risks depending partly on the paint underneath.

I need paint repairs.

Paint and bodywork may suit you better if the current finish is failing, rust needs attention, or you want permanent refinishing. A wrap is not a substitute for those repairs.

I want color and protection.

Consider Color PPF. It is thicker than vinyl and designed for meaningful impact protection. Clear PPF protects while keeping your existing color.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR QUOTE

Why can the quote be higher than $4495?

More car or more coverage

Large vehicles, detailed bumpers, tight curves, and added areas such as door jambs can require more film and time.

A different film or design

Premium and specialty films cost more. If you want original artwork or a personal livery, explore custom printed wraps.

More work before wrapping

Old vinyl, coatings, repainted panels, or extra trim removal may need more attention. Replacement clips and badges are separate when needed.

Only want to change the roof, hood, or selected panels? Explore partial wraps starting at $495.

LIVING WITH YOUR NEW LOOK

How long does a wrap last?

Approximately 3 to 5 years is a practical planning range for many professionally installed cosmetic wraps. Actual life depends on the film, finish, sun exposure, storage, mileage, washing, winter use, and maintenance.

Why do roofs and hoods age faster?

They face more direct sun and collect more weather and contamination than the sides of the car. Keep an eye on these areas, and ask us to check film that starts looking worn or brittle.

Plan removal before the wrap becomes badly cracked or weathered. Waiting too long can make removal harder.

Keep the care routine gentle.

  • Do not wash for seven days. Follow the vehicle-specific care instructions provided at pickup.
  • Hand wash with products suited to your film.
  • Clean off bird droppings, bugs, salt, and fuel promptly.
  • Keep brushes, abrasives, and strong pressure spray away from the film and its edges.
  • Do not polish matte or satin film like gloss paint.

Qualifying installations include our one-year workmanship warranty under the written terms. Manufacturer material coverage is separate and depends on the selected film. Ordinary wear, impact damage and improper care are not workmanship defects.

A FEW MORE ANSWERS

Still weighing it up?

How much does a full vehicle color-change wrap cost?

Full color-change vinyl wraps at Kickin' Customs start at $4495 for qualifying standard-size vehicles. Final pricing depends on vehicle size, film and finish selection, paint condition, panel complexity, and whether hidden areas such as door jambs are included.

Can I choose a color that did not come from the factory?

Yes. That is one of the reasons to choose a wrap. We’ll show you current films and help you narrow down a color and finish that suit your car.

What has to come off the car?

Some trim, badges, handles, or other parts may need to come off for the agreed coverage. We’ll explain that work first. Older or damaged clips and trim sometimes need replacement, which can add to the quote.

Can the wrap be removed without affecting my paint?

That cannot be guaranteed. Sound factory paint is usually more predictable, while repainted, repaired, or weakened paint can lift. Film age and condition matter too. We review removal work and price it separately.

What warranty comes with the wrap?

Qualifying installations include a one-year Kickin’ Customs workmanship warranty under the written terms. Your film may have separate manufacturer coverage. Normal wear, impacts, damage from incorrect care, and failing paint are not installation defects. Contact us if an edge lifts or the work changes unexpectedly.

Can you wrap over my old wrap or ceramic coating?

An old wrap is normally removed so we can inspect the paint. Some ceramic coatings need extra preparation because they can stop vinyl sticking properly. Tell us what is already on the car when you request a quote.

Can I change just part of the car instead?

Yes. A contrasting roof, hood, or two-tone upper body may give you the change you want. See partial wraps and two-tone ideas.

Can a wrapped car have a ceramic coating?

Some films can receive a compatible coating to help with cleaning. We’ll check the finish first. It still needs regular care, and a coating does not add the impact protection of PPF.
