XPEL STEALTH Matte Paint Protection Film

Protect the finish you have. Create the finish you want.

Protect factory matte paint or turn gloss paint satin at our Raynham shop, serving Massachusetts and Rhode Island drivers.

Matte Finish. Real Protection.

XPEL STEALTH is transparent protective film with a satin surface. On factory-matte or satin paint, it adds a replaceable protective layer with a low-sheen appearance. On gloss paint, covered panels become satin while the underlying paint color stays visible.

STEALTH adds a replaceable layer that helps reduce chips, scuffs and light scratches on covered paint. With proper care, it also helps resist staining from common road and environmental contamination.

STEALTH Defense: Full-Body Satin Conversion

Create a consistent satin finish across the painted exterior while keeping the original paint color visible. STEALTH adds a protective film layer, installed with preparation and finishing planned for your vehicle.

Sedan / CoupeStarting at $8,495

SUV / TruckStarting at $8,995

These starting prices reflect our preferred full-body conversion method, including additional material, applicable disassembly, and accessible edge wrapping to minimize visible original gloss. Vehicle design, paint condition, specialty surfaces, and areas that cannot be safely accessed are confirmed with your quote.

Our Preferred STEALTH Conversion Method

Our preferred full-body STEALTH conversion is planned to hide as much of the original gloss finish as reasonably possible. We wrap and tuck accessible edges, remove applicable emblems, and use additional film where needed so the satin finish carries farther into panel boundaries and transition areas.

This approach requires more material, disassembly, edge work, and installation time than a standard precut-pattern installation. That additional work is included in our published STEALTH Defense conversion pricing.

A standard-pattern installation is also available when appropriate. It uses less disassembly and follows the film pattern more closely, which can leave more original gloss visible at edges, around emblems, and in areas where the film stops.

Our Preferred Conversion
  • Accessible edges wrapped and tucked
  • Applicable emblems removed
  • Additional film used for finishing
  • More disassembly and finishing labor
  • Designed to minimize visible original gloss
  • Included in our advertised STEALTH Defense pricing
Standard Pattern Installation
  • Pattern edges generally remain closer to the visible panel surface
  • More film may terminate around emblems
  • Lower material usage
  • Less disassembly
  • More original gloss may remain visible at transitions
  • Available by request where appropriate

The Finish Starts With the Installation

Careful panel boundaries, accessible edge wrapping and appropriate emblem work help create a more consistent satin appearance. On a gloss-to-satin conversion, we plan where the film stops to reduce visible lines of original gloss. Some original finish can remain visible where panel design limits access.

Prepare the surface

We inspect the paint, existing film and previous repairs, then wash and decontaminate using preparation suited to the finish. Factory-matte paint is not conventionally polished.

Plan the finish

Our preferred conversion uses vehicle-specific patterns, modified precuts and suitable bulk methods to minimize visible original gloss. Where the vehicle allows, we wrap accessible edges and plan clean transitions between panels.

Install and inspect

Kickin’ Customs is fully licensed and insured. Installation takes place in our climate-controlled, brightly lit Raynham shop. We inspect the finish panel by panel, review care and plan the complimentary three-week follow-up.

Care and Support for Your STEALTH Finish

Keep the Satin Finish Looking Its Best

Wait seven days before washing and allow approximately two to three weeks for settling. Use pH-neutral soap, clean wash media and matte-safe maintenance products.

Avoid conventional polishing, abrasive compounds and gloss-enhancing products. Remove bugs, bird droppings, sap and road contamination promptly. Keep pressure-washer nozzles at least three feet from film edges.

Questions Before Your STEALTH Installation

Is STEALTH matte or satin, and will my paint color change?

STEALTH creates a satin, low-sheen surface. Matte PPF is a common term for this type of film. Its transparent finish keeps your underlying paint color visible while changing gloss panels to satin.

Can STEALTH protect factory-matte paint?

Yes. It adds a replaceable protective surface while preserving a low-sheen appearance. Factory finishes vary in sheen and texture, so we review the appearance before confirming partial or full coverage.

What is the difference between a full conversion and satin accents?

Full painted-body STEALTH coverage gives gloss paint a consistent satin appearance. Accents deliberately change selected panels to satin while uncovered panels remain gloss.

Why should factory-matte paint and satin film not be conventionally polished?

Conventional polishing can create shiny spots or uneven sheen on matte paint and satin film. We use finish-appropriate preparation and recommend matte-safe maintenance products.

Does STEALTH self-heal?

Its topcoat can soften fine scratches, wash marks and light surface scuffs with warmth. Deep cuts, punctures and damage that penetrates the film do not self-heal, and the process does not repair paint underneath.

Can STEALTH be removed or a damaged panel replaced?

Professional removal is recommended, and an affected section can often be replaced panel by panel. Repaired, repainted or poorly bonded paint can carry additional removal risk, so we review the starting condition before installation.

What are the limits of matte PPF protection?

STEALTH helps reduce many chips, scuffs and light scratches, but severe impacts can damage the film and paint beneath it. Film does not prevent dents or collisions and does not repair existing paint damage.

Can I add a coating, and how should I care for the film?

A coating designed for matte or satin film can improve water repellency and make routine cleaning easier without intentionally adding gloss. Use pH-neutral soap, clean wash media and matte-safe products, and avoid abrasive or gloss-enhancing treatments. The coating complements the film’s physical protection.

What warranty and follow-up are included?

Qualifying STEALTH installations carry a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty, subject to product terms and exclusions. Kickin’ Customs workmanship coverage separately requires the complimentary three-week inspection. Replacement assistance has its own written eligibility terms.

Is STEALTH useful for a daily driver?

Yes. It gives daily-driven factory-matte paint a replaceable protective surface above a finish that cannot be conventionally polished. It also lets a gloss-paint owner combine a satin appearance with physical paint protection.

What does STEALTH installation cost?

STEALTH Defense full painted-body gloss-to-satin conversion starts at $8,495 for a sedan or coupe and $8,995 for an SUV or truck. Factory-matte protection packages and satin accents are quoted separately for your vehicle and selected coverage.

How long will the installation take?

Full-body STEALTH conversions and extended factory-matte protection projects may take multiple days. We confirm your drop-off and completion window with your vehicle-specific quote.

Can I ask for help without choosing coverage?

Yes. Tell us the year, make and model, along with any details about the current finish and the result you want. You can leave the optional goal and package choices open, and we will help you plan the installation.

Where will my STEALTH installation take place?

All installations take place at Kickin’ Customs, 244 North Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767. We serve Southeastern Massachusetts, Taunton, Bridgewater, Plymouth County, the Attleboro area, the South Shore and Rhode Island. Call 617-431-6858 or use the quote form to plan your visit.
