This page is a plain-English guide to the XPEL Windshield Protection Film Limited Warranty. The official XPEL warranty is the controlling document for complete terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
This summary follows the retained XPEL Windshield Protection Film Limited Warranty, revision R1224.
You do not need to diagnose a manufacturing defect before contacting us. Tell us what changed and where you see it. We inspect the film, review available installation records and help provide the information needed when manufacturer review is appropriate.
Share the vehicle and a description of the concern. Unknown installation details can be left unanswered in the initial inquiry.
For a formal claim, the written warranty calls for the warranty card, a copy of the original purchase receipt and a description of the defect. Keep the original installation date and mileage, installation address and your contact details available.
XPEL determines whether the concern qualifies and approves the resolution plan. Manufacturer claim work must be approved before proceeding, with an authorized installer selected by XPEL.
Have your invoice, warranty card and any helpful photos ready. We’ll explain how to supply supporting information when arranging your inspection. The website request starts the conversation; it does not confirm an appointment or approve a claim.
The contract lists the following exclusions. Keeping them separate makes it easier to distinguish a potential film defect from damage or normal wear.
An appearance concern still deserves the right assessment. Residue may need cleaning, a film issue may need installation attention, and damage may need replacement. Neither a stain nor a lifted edge automatically establishes the cause or the remedy.
Find safe first steps in the WPF care guide →The document provides for repair, removal or replacement of the product, or refund of its cost, according to the applicable terms and XPEL’s decision. Replacement is carried out by an authorized installer chosen by XPEL for the covered area.
The WPF document states that XPEL covers the cost of parts while the installer provides labor. Approval, the work to be done and any costs must be confirmed before work begins.
The maximum replacement cost covered is the lesser of the original installation cost or $1,000. This is a manufacturer remedy limit, not a published installation price or a guaranteed payment.
Repaired or replaced film remains covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period. Warranty service does not start a new one-year or 12,000-mile period.
The contract identifies repair, replacement or refund as the exclusive remedy and limits XPEL’s maximum liability to the product purchase price. It excludes indirect, special, incidental, consequential and punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of use and inconvenience. See the official document for its warranty disclaimers and full liability provisions.
The XPEL WPF warranty is transferable when the new owner submits proof of the original installation date. The transfer grants only the remaining original warranty period.
Give the new owner the warranty card, original receipt and installation records, including the recorded mileage. A vehicle sale does not restart the term or turn normal wear into a covered defect.
Follow the installation and WPF-specific product-care instructions supplied with your film. Keep records of installation and service, use appropriate cleaning materials, and address changes in visibility, lifting or damage promptly.
Avoid ice scrapers and snow brushes directly on the film. Keep wiper blades clean and in good condition. Normal surface residue should be removed gently; stubborn contamination or an open edge needs professional advice rather than aggressive cleaning.
Your installation includes one complimentary WPF Restore application at approximately six months. Follow the Restore instructions supplied for your film and product between visits, and contact us if water repellency or clarity changes sooner.
The included Restore visit provides maintenance support. It does not extend the manufacturer warranty.
Read the complete WPF care instructions →One year or 12,000 miles driven from installation, whichever comes first. Use the installation date and mileage record to track the term. It is not a new 12,000-mile vehicle-odometer threshold.
