SPYNEX Basics & How It Works

What is SPYNEX?

SPYNEX is an aftermarket vehicle immobilizer that adds a separate authorization check beyond the factory key. On an approved vehicle, the driver uses a supported PIN, registered Bluetooth Tag, SPYNEX Control app function, or approved combination before normal driving is allowed.

Its job is to help resist unauthorized drive-away theft. It is not an alarm, GPS tracker, or dashcam, and it does not make a vehicle theft-proof. About SPYNEX explains the product choices and daily routine.

Link to this answer

A SPYNEX immobilizer checks whether the driver has completed the authorization required by the installed system. Without it, SPYNEX maintains its configured vehicle-specific protection against unauthorized driving.

The practical benefit is an additional obstacle even when someone has a usable vehicle key. What the vehicle does before and after authorization depends on its approved configuration; we explain that behavior privately at the handoff, without publishing installation details.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX adds an authorization layer separate from the factory key system. A factory immobilizer generally decides whether the vehicle recognizes an accepted key; SPYNEX adds its own approved owner-authorization requirement.

That distinction matters when the theft concern involves a stolen key, copied key, or misuse of factory access. SPYNEX does not replace the factory key or guarantee protection against every method. See How Immobilizers Protect for the difference between access to a vehicle and permission to drive it.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX is an immobilizer, not a complete car alarm. Its main role is authorization before driving, rather than detecting broken glass, impact, intrusion, or other alarm events.

A compatible alarm can add supported detection and alarm response alongside SPYNEX. Sensors, sirens, and connected alerts depend on the separate equipment selected; they are not automatically included with the immobilizer. Explore Car Security if those concerns matter to you.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX does not include live GPS tracking as part of its immobilizer function. The Control app's supported status or last-known arming-location information must not be confused with live vehicle location.

For supported tracking, movement alerts, geofencing, or recovery-oriented location features, consider a separate DroneMobile setup. Those functions depend on compatible hardware, the appropriate active service, account, power, and coverage. Location updates and recovery are not guaranteed.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX does not record video. It adds a driver-authorization layer, while a dashcam records the views its cameras can capture.

A separate Dashcam can help document driving or parked events when the equipment, recording mode, storage, and power support it. Video coverage and recording time have their own limits. Choose each layer for the job you need instead of expecting the immobilizer to record evidence.

SPYNEX Pin centers everyday authorization on a PIN entered through supported factory controls. SPYNEX Tag centers it on a registered Bluetooth Tag, with PIN authorization retained as part of the approved setup.

A Tag is not automatically included with every Pin installation. Supported app functions and the exact hardware also vary, so your written quote should identify what you are receiving. Compare the two routines on About SPYNEX before deciding which feels more natural for you.

Digital, hybrid, and analog describe different ways a SPYNEX installation can work with a vehicle. Conceptually, digital uses supported vehicle-network communication, analog uses a supported electrical control approach, and hybrid combines supported approaches.

These are installer-selected strategies, not three customer installation instructions or a ranking from good to best. The correct choice depends on the vehicle, hardware, firmware, factory systems, and safe operating requirements. We discuss the customer-facing behavior through a Compatibility Review, not wiring or installation locations.

Link to this answer

Kickin' Customs determines the supported SPYNEX operating strategy after reviewing your vehicle and the available approved configuration. You do not need to choose digital, hybrid, or analog yourself.

Tell us the exact vehicle and any existing electronics, along with your preferred daily authorization routine. We use that information to explain the suitable product and expected behavior. A strategy being available on another vehicle does not establish compatibility with yours; start with a Compatibility Review.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX compatibility must be confirmed for the exact vehicle and intended installation. A broad model list or another owner's installation is not enough to promise the same result.

Year, model, trim, powertrain, starting method, firmware, factory features, and existing electronics can affect the approved approach. Send those details for a Compatibility Review before booking or buying equipment. Analog capability does not turn SPYNEX into a universal-fit product.

Link to this answer

No. Luxury and performance vehicles are common security concerns, but vehicle value alone does not decide whether SPYNEX makes sense. An owner may also want another authorization layer on a daily driver, family vehicle, or supported business vehicle.

We consider compatibility, how the vehicle is used, where it is parked, your theft concerns, and whether the daily routine suits its drivers. The best choice is a supported system you can use consistently, not simply the most expensive option. Compare Packages to see the alternatives.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX is not presented as an exposed kill switch or a separate visible keypad. Approved PIN-based use relies on supported factory controls; Tag and supported phone methods provide other authorization choices.

The installation is intended to be discreet, but that is not a promise that equipment cannot be discovered or defeated. We do not publish system locations, controls used for a private PIN, wiring, or bypass information. About SPYNEX explains the owner experience without those details.

Link to this answer

A separate GPS or cellular subscription is not part of SPYNEX's core immobilizer function. Do not confuse SPYNEX authorization with a connected tracking service such as DroneMobile.

Your written SPYNEX quote confirms the supplied equipment, supported functions, and any applicable charges. If you add another connected product, its plan and subscription requirements are separate. Compare Packages for the installation offer and ask us to identify any ongoing costs before booking.

Link to this answer

The Control app is not a blanket requirement for every SPYNEX installation. Available authorization methods depend on the product and approved configuration, including PIN-based and Tag-based choices.

Where supported, we generally recommend the app because it can make authorization, PIN management, and service-mode use easier. Keep your PIN or another approved backup method available rather than relying only on a phone. About SPYNEX explains why we recommend it for everyday ownership.

Link to this answer

Yes, SPYNEX can be considered as the authorization layer in a professionally planned security setup, subject to compatibility. An alarm detects supported events, GPS helps locate or monitor, and a dashcam records; those jobs are different from immobilization.

Existing and proposed equipment must be reviewed together so the intended functions and owner routine can be checked. None of these layers guarantees theft prevention, alerts, recording, or recovery in every situation. Start with the Immobilizer Hub and tell us which concerns you want to address.

PIN, Tag, App & Authorization

You authorize a SPYNEX-equipped vehicle using the method approved for that installation: a PIN through supported controls, a registered Tag, supported phone authorization, or an approved combination.

The exact routine is demonstrated privately during owner setup. A generic online sequence may be wrong for your product or vehicle, so use your supplied guidance or request SPYNEX Owner Support. Keep the authorization details private and make sure regular drivers understand the approved routine.

Link to this answer

Yes, supported SPYNEX configurations can use a PIN entered through existing factory controls. This lets the owner provide separate authorization without an added visible keypad.

The usable controls and approved behavior are vehicle-specific. We demonstrate them privately and do not publish real PINs, button sequences, or recovery methods. Keep your owner information secure; PIN Support is the appropriate place to request help with your installation.

Link to this answer

Yes, a registered Bluetooth Tag is the central everyday authorization method for an approved SPYNEX Tag setup. It offers a convenient alternative to relying only on a manual PIN routine.

Tag availability is product-dependent and is not assumed with every SPYNEX installation. The approved setup also retains PIN authorization, and owners need to manage the Tag and its battery. Your quote and handoff confirm the included devices; Phone and Tag Support covers later ownership concerns.

Link to this answer

Supported SPYNEX installations can authorize through the SPYNEX Control app's approved phone-based method. This can make daily use easier for owners who already carry their phone.

App availability and behavior depend on the installed product, vehicle, firmware, configuration, phone, and current app version. It is not universal and does not replace the immobilizer or your backup method. See About SPYNEX for the recommendation and SPYNEX Owner Support for verified help with an installed system.

Link to this answer

We generally recommend the SPYNEX Control app because, where supported, it makes everyday authorization, PIN management, service-mode use, and status checks easier to manage. The goal is an owner routine you understand and are comfortable using, not an extra mandatory device.

Approved SPYNEX configurations can also return automatically to their protected state, clearing prior authorization according to vehicle-specific behavior. That reduces the chance of leaving the vehicle authorized, but rearming belongs to the installed system, not the phone app alone.

App functions depend on the product, vehicle, firmware, configuration, and current app version. Keep your PIN or another approved backup available. The app is not live GPS tracking. About SPYNEX explains the recommendation, and SPYNEX Owner Support provides private operating guidance.

Link to this answer

More than one authorization method may be available when the approved SPYNEX setup supports it. For example, a supported phone or Tag routine may be used alongside an approved PIN method.

Do not assume every combination or accessory is included. We identify the enabled methods and backup approach in the vehicle's owner handoff so drivers understand what actually authorizes it. For changes after installation, use SPYNEX Owner Support rather than attempting to add methods from generic instructions.

Link to this answer

No. A Bluetooth Tag is not automatically included with every SPYNEX installation. SPYNEX Pin and SPYNEX Tag are distinct product choices with different everyday authorization routines.

Your written quote confirms the hardware and any accessories included for your vehicle. If carrying a Tag is important to you, mention it before booking so we can review the supported option and its owner responsibilities. Compare Packages and About SPYNEX explain the starting choices.

Link to this answer

No. App authorization must be supported by the installed SPYNEX product and approved vehicle configuration. Having the Control app on a phone does not establish that every function is available on the vehicle.

Hardware, firmware, current app version, and the supported phone setup all matter. We confirm the functions before installation and explain the backup authorization method. For an existing system, request SPYNEX Owner Support with the product shown on your installation record.

Link to this answer

Yes, a supported SPYNEX setup can be planned for more than one authorized driver. Each regular driver should understand the approved authorization method, backup access, and any service-use arrangements.

The number and type of devices or methods depend on the installation, so discuss all regular drivers before booking. Keep access deliberate rather than casually sharing owner credentials. Driver Support explains how to arrange changes when another person starts or stops using the vehicle.

Link to this answer

Supported SPYNEX configurations can accommodate multiple paired phones, which can be useful for shared vehicles. This differs from the one paired phone supported by the IGLA setup we currently offer.

The exact device support and app functions still need confirmation for your product, firmware, and configuration. We do not promise an unlimited number of phones. Keep an approved backup method available and use Phone and Tag Support when adding, replacing, or removing a phone.

Link to this answer

Use the approved backup authorization method provided for your SPYNEX installation if your phone is unavailable. A PIN or another supported method should remain part of the ownership plan even when you normally use the app.

Learn that backup privately before you need it. If you cannot authorize the vehicle, contact SPYNEX Owner Support rather than guessing procedures or sharing security information publicly. A phone problem does not by itself establish that the immobilizer has failed.

Link to this answer

A depleted Tag battery can prevent that Tag from providing its normal authorization. Use the approved backup method for your installation and follow the correct owner guidance for the actual Tag.

Do not assume every Tag uses the same battery, replacement process, or response. Phone and Tag Support can help identify the appropriate owner resource. If the vehicle still behaves unexpectedly with your approved backup, arrange a review instead of treating the Tag battery as the only possible cause.

Link to this answer

Contact Kickin' Customs for verified owner support if a SPYNEX Tag is lost. A missing authorization device is an access-management concern, not just an accessory to replace.

Use your approved backup method if available and keep the vehicle secure while the missing device's access is reviewed. Do not post Tag information, PINs, or owner materials in a public message. Phone and Tag Support is the starting point for the correct next steps and any replacement cost.

Link to this answer

Treat a lost or replacement phone as a change to vehicle access and contact Kickin' Customs for verified support. Installing the app on a new phone is not the same as confirming that access has been safely transferred.

Keep your approved backup available and tell us whether the old phone is lost, sold, damaged, or still in your possession. Private access changes belong in Phone and Tag Support, not a public FAQ or ordinary inquiry containing passwords or pairing information.

Link to this answer

Yes, supported SPYNEX configurations allow PIN changes, and the Control app can make supported PIN-management tasks easier. A change may be appropriate after access has been shared or a driver's access should end.

The correct process depends on your installed product and setup. Request PIN Support for verified instructions; do not send us the current PIN, a proposed PIN, or a video of the sequence through a public form. This page explains the benefit without publishing the procedure.

Link to this answer

Contact Kickin' Customs through Forgotten PIN Support if you cannot remember your SPYNEX PIN. Owner and installation details must be verified before private recovery guidance is provided.

Do not repeatedly guess, publish possible PINs, or send owner-card secrets in an ordinary message. If an approved alternative authorization method is already available, use only the guidance supplied for your vehicle. If stranded, prioritize a safe location and roadside assistance; support does not guarantee immediate remote recovery.

Link to this answer

Ask Kickin' Customs to review access if a phone or Tag is no longer trusted. Deleting an app, taking back a key, or changing a phone password should not be assumed to remove that device's vehicle authorization.

We need to match the request to the verified owner and installed configuration before advising on removal or replacement. Use Driver Support and describe the access concern without sending credentials, pairing codes, or authorization sequences.

Link to this answer

Additional drivers can be reviewed after installation, subject to the supported SPYNEX configuration and available authorization methods. A new driver may need an approved device, owner setup, or a change to the access arrangement.

Contact Driver Support before sharing private information or purchasing an accessory. We can explain compatibility, any work or cost involved, and the appropriate handoff. Every driver should understand daily use and the backup method for that vehicle.

Link to this answer

Phone security can help protect access to the device you use with SPYNEX, but do not assume the Control app supports every biometric or phone-lock feature. Availability depends on the phone, operating system, app version, and supported configuration.

Ask Phone and Tag Support which app-security functions apply to your setup. A screen lock or biometric login is not a replacement for the vehicle's approved authorization and backup method. Never send phone unlock credentials or app passwords through the inquiry form.

Daily Use, Service & Multiple Drivers

SPYNEX adds the approved authorization routine to normal vehicle use. Depending on your setup, that may involve a factory-control PIN, registered Tag, supported phone method, or a combination.

After successful authorization, the intended experience is normal driving under the approved configuration. We explain what you should expect before you leave, including backup access and any remote-start differences. Compatibility review and vehicle-specific testing matter; unchanged behavior for every factory function is not a blanket promise.

Link to this answer

After successful authorization, the approved SPYNEX configuration permits the vehicle's normal driving operation. Authorization is permission for the installed immobilizer function; it does not turn the app into a remote starter, alarm, or GPS tracker.

What happens to that authorization afterward follows the vehicle-specific setup. We explain rearming and confirmation privately at handoff. If the behavior differs from what you were shown, use SPYNEX Owner Support rather than assuming a universal reset time or sequence.

Link to this answer

An approved SPYNEX configuration may return automatically to its protected state after normal use. When it rearms as configured, the prior authorization is cleared and the vehicle again requires its approved authorization method.

That behavior belongs to the installed system, not the phone app by itself. Timing and conditions are vehicle-specific; do not assume parking alone always proves protection has returned, particularly after service use. Follow your supplied owner guidance or ask SPYNEX Owner Support to confirm expectations.

Link to this answer

Yes, SPYNEX can be considered for a shared family vehicle when its approved authorization options suit all regular drivers. Supported multiple-phone, PIN, or Tag choices can make everyday access easier to organize.

Plan for each driver's normal routine, an unavailable phone or Tag, and occasional service visits. Avoid making one person's phone the only understood way to use the vehicle. Driver Support helps with later access changes, while a pre-installation Compatibility Review helps choose the right starting setup.

Link to this answer

A business vehicle with multiple authorized drivers may be a suitable SPYNEX use case, but it requires an individual review. The right configuration depends on the vehicle, driver turnover, handoff routine, and supported authorization methods.

SPYNEX should not be described as a fleet-management platform, driver log, or live tracker. If location monitoring is also needed, that is a separate product decision. Use a Compatibility Review to discuss both everyday access and how departing drivers' access will be handled.

Link to this answer

Arrange the approved SPYNEX service handoff before the dealer appointment. Tell Kickin' Customs what work is planned, especially key programming, battery service, software updates, module replacement, or work involving existing electronics.

Use the private service guidance for your vehicle rather than giving the dealer your personal PIN in a public or routine booking message. Service Visit Support explains what information is useful and how to plan for road tests and the return to normal protection.

Link to this answer

Prepare the approved temporary-use arrangement before handing the vehicle to a valet. The correct method depends on the installed SPYNEX configuration; do not assume handing over the factory key alone is enough.

Keep your private authorization information separate from the ordinary handoff and follow the owner guidance provided for your setup. After collecting the vehicle, confirm normal operation and protection as instructed. If unsure, contact Service Visit Support before the visit rather than improvising at the valet stand.

Link to this answer

Plan the SPYNEX handoff before detailing, repairs, towing, or transport so the provider can perform the agreed work safely. Explain what work or movement is expected and whether the vehicle is currently operating normally.

Contact Service Visit Support for the approved arrangement. Do not disclose installation locations, wiring, or private authorization sequences to an unverified recipient. Some jobs also involve battery disconnection or vehicle electronics, so tell us about those changes before the vehicle leaves.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX service mode is a supported temporary operating arrangement intended for situations where an authorized third party needs to use the vehicle. Its exact behavior and availability depend on the installed configuration.

It is not the same as normal protected daily use, and owners need to understand how their vehicle returns to its intended protection afterward. The Control app may simplify supported service functions. Service Visit Support provides the appropriate private guidance without publishing activation steps here.

Link to this answer

Use the service-mode instructions supplied for your exact SPYNEX installation, or request them through verified Service Visit Support. We do not publish activation or deactivation sequences on this public page.

Before the appointment, identify the vehicle, installed product, and type of service so the correct guidance can be provided. Do not send a PIN, pairing code, or owner-card secret in a routine message. Supported app control may make service use easier, but it is not universal.

Link to this answer

Confirm protection using the vehicle-specific owner guidance provided at installation or through verified support. There is no single public indicator or timing rule that proves every SPYNEX configuration has left service mode.

Check the vehicle when it is returned and ask for help if the behavior differs from the handoff explanation. Service Visit Support covers this ownership check. Do not assume locking the doors, closing the app, or ending a repair appointment alone proves the system is protecting normally.

Link to this answer

Have the vehicle kept safe and contact Kickin' Customs before another facility changes the immobilizer. Explain where the vehicle is, the planned work, what changed, and whether normal or remote-start operation is affected.

A vehicle that will not operate may have a battery, key, factory-electronics, remote-start, or immobilizer-related concern. The cause needs review. Use Immobilizer Troubleshooting and coordinate verified support; do not authorize guessed bypasses or disclose private credentials to resolve it quickly.

Link to this answer

Battery disconnection or replacement can change the conditions under which vehicle electronics operate, so the work should be coordinated with the approved SPYNEX owner guidance. Do not assume every vehicle and configuration responds identically.

Tell the service provider that aftermarket security is installed and contact Battery Service Support before planned work when possible. Afterward, review normal operation using your supplied guidance. Unexpected behavior needs diagnosis; it does not automatically mean that SPYNEX has failed or lost its configuration.

Link to this answer

Yes, weak or unstable vehicle power can affect electronic systems and may contribute to starting or authorization concerns. A no-start or unusual response does not identify the immobilizer as the cause by itself.

Battery condition, factory keys, vehicle systems, recent service, and other accessories may need review together. Use Immobilizer Troubleshooting and arrange appropriate diagnosis instead of repeatedly trying to operate an unsafe vehicle or changing security settings to compensate for a power problem.

Link to this answer

Contact Kickin' Customs if SPYNEX behaves differently after battery work or a vehicle software update. Tell us when the change began, what work was done, and which ordinary functions still work.

Keep service records available and avoid further programming, removal, or guessed resets until the concern is reviewed. Vehicle Changes Support helps route the issue to the correct owner guidance or inspection. Continued compatibility and unchanged behavior after outside work should not be assumed.

Theft Protection & Realistic Limits

SPYNEX can add a separate authorization obstacle even if someone has your real factory key. On a supported, correctly configured vehicle, possession of that key alone does not satisfy the added SPYNEX authorization requirement.

This does not protect every situation. Access to an authorized device, an already authorized vehicle, physical towing, or another attack may change the risk. Keep keys and authorization methods controlled and read How Immobilizers Protect for the limits of the extra layer.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX can help address stolen-key or cloned-key drive-away concerns by requiring authorization separate from the factory key system. The key may provide vehicle access without satisfying the added immobilizer requirement.

That is an additional barrier, not a claim that SPYNEX stops the key from being stolen or copied. Protection depends on the approved installation and circumstances. If a key or authorization device goes missing, address the access loss promptly through the appropriate vehicle and owner-support channels.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX can add protection beyond the factory key system when relay-style theft is a concern. Its purpose is to require separate authorization on a supported vehicle rather than relying only on the factory key being recognized.

It does not stop radio signals from being relayed or promise to defeat every attack. Keep sensible key-security habits and consider other layers for intrusion, location, or evidence. How Immobilizers Protect explains this distinction without describing theft methods or bypass procedures.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX can provide a separate authorization requirement even when a vehicle recognizes an unauthorized newly programmed key. Recognized factory access and approved SPYNEX authorization are different checks on a supported installation.

It does not guarantee that no one can program a key or compromise another vehicle system. If you suspect unauthorized programming, arrange a review of both factory access and the added security. The right response may involve the dealer and SPYNEX Owner Support, not just changing one setting.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX is intended to add an authorization obstacle to unauthorized drive-away attempts, including concerns involving misuse of vehicle electronics. The approved installation is chosen around the actual vehicle and supported operating strategy.

No claim is made that it defeats every diagnostic tool, electronic attack, or future theft method. We explain expected protection without publishing installation or bypass-sensitive details. A Compatibility Review is the right way to establish what is supported for your vehicle.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX should not be described as preventing every CAN-bus or electronic theft method. Vehicle networks, factory systems, attack methods, and supported immobilizer strategies vary.

The added authorization layer can address a different weakness from the factory key system, but it is not a universal guarantee. Digital, hybrid, and analog options require professional vehicle-specific selection. About SPYNEX explains the intended role; a Compatibility Review confirms the supported setup for your vehicle.

Link to this answer

Do not assume SPYNEX provides the Walkaway or Anti-Carjacking behavior described for enhanced IGLA. SPYNEX's confirmed role here is its approved vehicle-specific authorization and immobilization function, not a universal post-authorization takeover response.

If protection for a running-vehicle takeover is a priority, discuss that concern before choosing equipment and review Compare Packages. In a carjacking or immediate threat, prioritize people, let the vehicle go, and seek emergency help. No installed system makes confrontation safe.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX does not physically prevent someone from breaking a window, opening the vehicle, or taking items from inside. Its main job is an added authorization requirement before normal driving.

A separate compatible Car Security system can detect and respond to supported intrusion events, depending on its sensors and setup. Even an alarm cannot prevent every break-in or guarantee an alert. Keep the distinction between resisting drive-away theft and protecting the cabin's contents clear.

Link to this answer

No. An immobilizer does not physically stop a vehicle from being towed or loaded onto a flatbed. SPYNEX's authorization layer addresses driving the vehicle, not every way it can be moved.

Supported alarm sensors or separate GPS Tracking may help with other aspects of a movement event, subject to equipment, power, service, and coverage. Neither notification nor recovery is guaranteed. Parking choices and insurance remain relevant even when an immobilizer is installed.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX does not directly stop theft of wheels, catalytic converters, cargo, or other parts from a parked vehicle. Preventing unauthorized driving is a different job from detecting or resisting component theft.

Tell us which property or event concerns you so we can discuss appropriate physical precautions and supported alarm or recording options. Sensors and cameras have limitations, and no electronic package guarantees prevention. Car Security and Dashcam explain those separate layers.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX cannot guarantee protection from vandalism, forced-entry damage, or damage caused during an attempted theft. A vehicle may be damaged even when an unauthorized person cannot drive it away.

The immobilizer adds an authorization obstacle; insurance, appropriate alarm detection, and supported recording serve different purposes. If a theft attempt has occurred, prioritize safety, document ordinary observations, and request Security Incident Support before further use or changes to the installation.

Link to this answer

No. SPYNEX does not make a vehicle impossible to steal. It adds an authorization layer on a supported vehicle, but every security product has limitations.

Towing, physical loading, forced entry, vandalism, component theft, and access to authorized devices are among the concerns that an immobilizer alone cannot resolve. A sensible plan combines suitable measures without promising perfect protection. Start with How Immobilizers Protect to understand what the added layer does and does not address.

Link to this answer

An alarm can address intrusion and detection concerns that SPYNEX does not handle by itself. SPYNEX focuses on authorization before driving; an alarm responds to the events its supported sensors detect.

Depending on the selected equipment, those can include impact, glass break, door intrusion, or movement-related events. Features and connected notifications are separate choices, not automatic SPYNEX inclusions. Explore Car Security and have the complete installation reviewed together for compatibility.

Link to this answer

GPS tracking performs a different job: supported location and monitoring if a vehicle moves, including circumstances an immobilizer cannot prevent. SPYNEX itself is not a live tracker or a recovery service.

DroneMobile may provide supported location, movement alerts, or geofencing with the correct hardware and active service. Account access, vehicle power, and coverage also matter, and recovery is never guaranteed. Its functions should be considered separately from authorization through the SPYNEX Control app.

Link to this answer

A dashcam can record evidence from its supported camera views, while SPYNEX adds an authorization requirement. Recording may be useful for driving incidents or parked events that do not involve someone trying to drive the vehicle away.

Camera coverage, recording mode, available power, and storage determine what may be captured. Neither continuous parked recording nor usable evidence in every incident is guaranteed. Review Dashcam options and disclose the planned equipment during the SPYNEX compatibility check.

Compatibility & Professional Installation

We review the exact vehicle, starting method, factory systems, existing electronics, and intended authorization routine before confirming a supported SPYNEX installation. Hardware and firmware support must fit the vehicle's actual configuration.

Provide the year, make, model, trim, powertrain, and any remote start or aftermarket equipment through a Compatibility Review. A model name alone is not approval. The written quote and owner handoff identify the selected product and expected behavior before the installation is treated as confirmed.

Link to this answer

Those details identify differences that can affect SPYNEX support and everyday behavior. Vehicles sharing a model name may use different powertrains, starting systems, factory electronics, or software.

We also need to know about digital keys, remote start, and added equipment where present. Accurate details help us choose a supported strategy and explain limitations before you book. Use a Compatibility Review rather than assuming another owner's installation applies to your trim or model year.

Link to this answer

EV and hybrid compatibility requires an individual SPYNEX review. We do not promise that every electric or hybrid vehicle supports the same product, operating strategy, or authorization behavior.

These vehicles can differ from conventional vehicles in their ready-to-drive state and factory systems, so the intended behavior needs to be clear before installation. Send the exact model, year, trim, and powertrain for a Compatibility Review. Do not treat a generic engine-start description as approval for an EV.

Link to this answer

Some vehicle types may be considered, but diesel SPYNEX compatibility is not a blanket promise. The exact model, powertrain, factory starting system, software, and proposed equipment determine the available approved approach.

Tell us about any factory or aftermarket remote start and other electronics when requesting a Compatibility Review. We confirm the intended authorization and daily-use behavior before booking. Support on a gasoline version does not automatically establish support on the diesel version.

Link to this answer

Manual-transmission vehicles require a specific compatibility and safety review before SPYNEX is confirmed. Do not assume approval for an automatic version applies to the manual version.

The vehicle's starting system, intended immobilizer behavior, and any remote-start equipment all matter. Send the exact transmission and existing equipment details for a Compatibility Review. We will explain whether an approved configuration is available rather than promising universal manual-transmission support.

Link to this answer

Imported, modified, or specialty vehicles need an individual SPYNEX assessment. A model name may not reveal the market specification, factory electronics, prior work, or software that determines compatibility.

Provide the vehicle's origin and relevant modifications along with its ordinary identification details for a Compatibility Review. Additional inspection may be necessary before a quote is confirmed. An analog option does not remove the need for a safe, supported installation strategy.

Link to this answer

No. Analog operation does not mean SPYNEX can be installed on any vehicle. It describes an operating approach, not universal compatibility or permission to improvise an unsupported installation.

The vehicle, electrical systems, product, and safe operating requirements still have to fit an approved strategy. We select the approach through a Compatibility Review and explain the resulting owner experience. Installation locations, circuits, and wiring instructions are not part of this public guidance.

Link to this answer

A properly planned installation is checked for the intended vehicle behavior, but we do not guarantee that warning lights or diagnostic faults can never occur. Factory conditions, power issues, later software updates, or other work may also be involved.

Disclose existing warnings during the Compatibility Review so they can be considered before installation. If a new warning appears afterward, note when it began and arrange diagnosis. Do not erase warnings or assume either the vehicle or SPYNEX is the cause without review.

Link to this answer

Factory connected services and manufacturer-app behavior must be reviewed for your exact vehicle. SPYNEX compatibility does not automatically guarantee every connected command or feature remains unchanged.

Tell us which features you use, including app starting, digital access, or other remote functions, during the Compatibility Review. We confirm the supported behavior and explain limitations before booking. Later manufacturer software changes may require another review rather than being treated as automatically compatible.

Link to this answer

A digital key or phone-as-key system needs to be reviewed separately from SPYNEX phone authorization. The manufacturer's phone key provides factory access; the SPYNEX Control app has a different authorization and owner-control role.

Do not assume one replaces the other or that every combination is supported. Identify the vehicle, phone-key feature, and intended SPYNEX method in a Compatibility Review. The approved setup should make clear what each device does and what backup remains available.

Link to this answer

An existing aftermarket system does not automatically prevent a SPYNEX installation, but it must be reviewed before compatibility is confirmed. Remote start, alarms, tracking, dashcams, audio, and other electronics can affect planning and testing.

Provide product names and ordinary installation records when available through a Compatibility Review. Do not send private wiring or security-location images in the public form. Undocumented equipment may require inspection, and additional work is confirmed in writing rather than assumed included.

Link to this answer

Another immobilizer or kill switch needs an individual assessment before adding SPYNEX. Two authorization systems should not be assumed to cooperate safely or improve protection simply because both are installed.

Tell us what equipment is documented and how the vehicle currently behaves through a Compatibility Review. We may need an inspection before recommending retention, changes, or removal. Do not alter an existing security installation yourself or publish its location to obtain advice.

Link to this answer

A leased or financed vehicle can be considered for compatibility, but technical fit does not establish permission under your agreement. Review the lessor's or lender's requirements and any end-of-term restoration obligations before booking.

We can explain the proposed work and whether future removal would need a separate quote. Use a Compatibility Review for the vehicle itself and obtain any required contractual approval independently. Installation does not guarantee lease acceptance or reimbursement for later removal.

Kickin' Customs does not make a blanket guarantee about the factory vehicle warranty. Treatment depends on the manufacturer, the concern being evaluated, the installation, and whether added equipment caused or contributed to the issue.

Discuss the proposed work and any vehicle-warranty concerns before booking through a Compatibility Review. SPYNEX equipment and our installation terms are separate from the vehicle manufacturer's warranty; SPYNEX Warranty explains that distinction without promising every future claim will be accepted.

We do not promise that an installation will have no effect on every inspection process. Vehicle condition, applicable inspection requirements, diagnostic status, and the approved configuration all need to be considered.

Mention an upcoming inspection or an existing warning during the Compatibility Review. If a provider needs to operate the vehicle, arrange the approved service handoff beforehand. An immobilizer is not a way to address an existing emissions fault or avoid required vehicle checks.

Installation time is confirmed for your vehicle and the agreed work rather than promised as one universal appointment length. Compatibility review, existing electronics, installation, programming, testing, and owner setup all take time.

Additional diagnosis or undocumented prior work can change the plan. Request a Compatibility Review and we will explain scheduling before booking. Allow time for the private owner handoff so authorization, backup access, and service-use expectations are understood before you leave.

SPYNEX is intended to be installed discreetly, with approved authorization methods that do not require an obvious added keypad. The finished appearance and any owner-facing equipment depend on the selected product and vehicle.

Discreet does not mean impossible to find or defeat. We will discuss visible changes as part of the Compatibility Review, but we do not disclose system locations or security-sensitive installation details publicly. Ask about any interior-finish concerns before the work is agreed.

The work required depends on the approved vehicle-specific SPYNEX strategy. We do not promise a universal plug-in installation, no electrical integration, or no permanent modification for every vehicle.

During the Compatibility Review, we can explain the proposed work in customer-facing terms, including relevant lease or future-removal considerations. Your written agreement should identify any separately quoted work. Wiring paths, protected circuits, and system locations remain private rather than becoming public installation instructions.

Remote Start, Alarm, GPS & Integration

Factory remote start may be compatible with an approved SPYNEX configuration, but it must be checked for the exact vehicle. Remote engine starting and authorization to drive are separate functions.

Tell us how you use the factory remote or manufacturer app during the Compatibility Review. We explain supported takeover behavior and limitations privately at handoff. Do not assume successful remote starting means the vehicle should drive without the SPYNEX authorization required by its setup.

Link to this answer

A Compustar remote starter may work with SPYNEX when the combined installation is supported and professionally configured. Compatibility depends on the vehicle, remote-start equipment, SPYNEX product, and approved operating behavior.

Disclose the installed or proposed system in a Compatibility Review before booking either product. Starting, takeover, authorization, and other intended functions need review together. Remote Start explains the separate starting options; none is automatically included in the SPYNEX installation price.

Link to this answer

On an approved combined setup, remote engine starting and permission to drive remain separate questions. SPYNEX authorization may still be required for the vehicle's supported takeover and driving routine.

The exact sequence is vehicle- and configuration-specific, so it is demonstrated privately rather than published here. Request a Compatibility Review before changing either system. Existing owners should use Remote Start Support if normal starting and remote-start behavior differ from the approved handoff.

A compatible Compustar alarm can be considered alongside SPYNEX, with each system doing a different job. The alarm handles supported detection and response; SPYNEX adds authorization before driving.

The exact equipment, factory systems, and desired functions need a combined Compatibility Review. Sensors, sirens, connected alerts, and any remote-start capability depend on the separate package selected. Car Security describes those choices without assuming every feature comes with the immobilizer.

SPYNEX and DroneMobile can be considered as separate layers in a compatible security plan. SPYNEX handles authorization; supported DroneMobile equipment and service provide connected functions such as location or alerts.

The products are not interchangeable, and owning SPYNEX alone does not activate DroneMobile tracking or control. Use a Compatibility Review for the combined setup and DroneMobile for hardware and service requirements. Power, coverage, account access, and the selected plan affect connected availability; recovery is not guaranteed.

A dashcam with supported Parking Mode can be considered alongside SPYNEX after the complete installation is reviewed. The camera records; the immobilizer handles authorization, so one does not supply the other's function.

Parking power, battery condition, camera load, and existing electronics need consideration. Request a Compatibility Review before adding equipment, especially if a parking battery or other power accessory is planned. Dashcam options have their own recording and runtime limits; no all-night recording promise is implied.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX may work alongside supported factory security and connected services, but the complete vehicle configuration must be reviewed. Compatibility with one function does not automatically confirm every manufacturer-app command or digital-key feature.

List the features you rely on during the Compatibility Review. We explain the supported behavior and test the agreed installation. Later factory programming, software updates, or hardware changes may justify a new review if the vehicle behaves differently.

Link to this answer

Contact Kickin' Customs before adding or changing other vehicle electronics after a SPYNEX installation. New equipment or outside work can affect the operating conditions and integration originally approved.

Tell us the proposed product and installer so the existing setup can be considered through a Compatibility Review. Keep ordinary service records and arrange a check if behavior changes afterward. Added equipment does not automatically invalidate every coverage question, but related work and diagnosed cause matter; SPYNEX Warranty controls coverage decisions.

No. The SPYNEX Control app is an authorization and owner-control tool for supported SPYNEX functions. DroneMobile is a separate connected platform with functions determined by its hardware and service plan.

SPYNEX app status or an arming location is not live GPS, geofencing, movement monitoring, or recovery tracking. If those are the features you want, review DroneMobile separately. Neither app should be assumed to grant functions that the vehicle's installed equipment does not support.

Link to this answer

SPYNEX should not be presented as providing live GPS location, geofences, movement alerts, or recovery tracking. Its Control app supports owner functions associated with the approved immobilizer configuration.

A last-known or arming location is not continuous vehicle tracking. Separate GPS Tracking or DroneMobile equipment and the appropriate active service are the relevant options for supported connected location functions. Those still depend on power, coverage, account access, and plan availability, with no guaranteed alert or recovery.

Pricing, SPYNEX vs IGLA & Buying

SPYNEX is $1450 installed or as low as $86/mo for a supported, approved vehicle-specific configuration. Financing is subject to credit approval and current lender terms.

Your written quote confirms the exact equipment, included functions, additional work, and final cost before booking. It is not a promise that every SPYNEX model or accessory is included at one price. See Compare Packages for the current installation offer and Financing for payment information.

Link to this answer

The approved standard SPYNEX installation includes the selected configuration, professional installation, programming, vehicle-specific testing, owner setup, and authorization training. The exact hardware and supported features are identified in your written quote.

That matters because Pin, Tag, app support, and operating strategy are not identical on every vehicle. Alarms, tracking, remote start, dashcams, transfers, and other extra work are separate unless expressly included. Compare Packages lists the current included and separately quoted work.

Link to this answer

No. The $1450 installed offer does not mean every SPYNEX model, Tag, app function, and accessory is included. It applies to a supported, approved configuration for the quoted vehicle.

Tell us which authorization routine and features matter before booking. Your written quote should identify the equipment, enabled functions, and any additional charges rather than leaving them assumed. Compare Packages and About SPYNEX explain the starting offer and product distinctions.

Link to this answer

A quote can be higher when the vehicle or requested configuration needs additional equipment, integration, inspection, or work beyond the approved standard installation. Existing undocumented electronics or repair needs may also require a separate review.

We confirm that work and the final cost in writing before booking or proceeding with approved additions. A higher quote should reflect the actual vehicle and agreed work, not an assumption that every accessory is needed. Compare Packages explains what is ordinarily separate.

Link to this answer

No. Alarms, GPS tracking, remote start, and dashcams are separate products unless your written quote explicitly includes them. Each has a different function and its own compatibility requirements.

SPYNEX provides the approved authorization and immobilization layer. If you also want detection, connected location, starting convenience, or video evidence, discuss the complete plan before installation. Compare Packages distinguishes included work from additions, and the Immobilizer Hub explains the separate security roles.

Link to this answer

Yes. The current SPYNEX installation offer is $1450 installed or as low as $86/mo, subject to credit approval and current lender terms. Monthly examples are estimates, not a promise that every applicant or purchase qualifies.

Your written quote confirms the eligible services and total cost. Ask us to explain the available payment arrangement and any applicable charges before making a decision. See Financing and Compare Packages for the current offer; do not assume an unrelated accessory has the same payment terms.

Link to this answer

Removal or transfer is not automatically included in the original SPYNEX installed price. Moving equipment involves a separate review of ownership, condition, compatibility, programming, installation work, and any new parts needed.

Ask for a written quote before selling the vehicle or arranging removal elsewhere. A transfer also does not automatically restart or carry over warranty coverage. Compare Packages identifies separately quoted work, while Transfer Support explains the correct starting point for an existing owner.

Link to this answer

IGLA is our flagship immobilizer, while SPYNEX is a professional alternative with vehicle-specific strengths. Both add authorization beyond the factory key, but their supported products, methods, app experience, and operating behavior are not identical.

SPYNEX offers Pin and Tag choices and supported Control app functions, including multiple paired phones where approved. The IGLA setup we offer supports one paired phone, and enhanced IGLA has separately specified Walkaway and Anti-Carjacking features. Compare Packages helps compare actual choices without assigning IGLA features to SPYNEX.

Link to this answer

An owner may choose SPYNEX because its supported configuration fits the vehicle and preferred daily routine particularly well. Pin or Tag authorization, supported multiple-phone use, and convenient Control app functions can be relevant advantages.

It should not be chosen on an assumption that every feature is universal or that it is a cheaper version of IGLA. We consider compatibility, existing electronics, drivers, and security goals together. About SPYNEX and Compare Packages explain the differences before a vehicle-specific recommendation.

Link to this answer

We may recommend IGLA when its supported configuration better matches the vehicle and the owner's goals. It remains our flagship starting point, and enhanced IGLA may be relevant when approved Walkaway or Anti-Carjacking behavior is a priority.

That does not make SPYNEX unsuitable in general. The recommendation considers the vehicle, authorization preferences, app use, existing equipment, and expected operating behavior. Compare Packages presents the choices, and a Compatibility Review establishes which can actually be offered for your vehicle.

Link to this answer

Garage storage reduces some exposure, but it does not determine whether an added authorization layer is worthwhile. The vehicle may also be parked at work, shops, hotels, appointments, or other places away from home.

Consider your actual driving and parking habits, theft concerns, and willingness to use the approved routine consistently. SPYNEX is not a guarantee against theft inside or outside a garage. The Immobilizer Hub can help you discuss the appropriate protection without assuming every owner needs the same package.

An insurance discount is not guaranteed by installing SPYNEX. Eligibility, documentation, policy treatment, and any effect on a claim are decisions for your insurer.

Ask the insurer before booking if a discount is part of your buying decision, and keep the installation invoice and product description for any requested review. Do not assume a security product changes the terms of your insurance or replaces theft coverage. We can identify the quoted equipment without promising an insurer's response.

Warranty, Ownership, Support & Troubleshooting

SPYNEX equipment coverage and Kickin' Customs installation coverage are governed by the written terms issued for your actual product and installation. They are separate coverage questions, and the IGLA terms do not automatically apply.

Review SPYNEX Warranty for the claim process and what needs confirmation in your documents, including the period, start event, eligibility, remedy, and exclusions. We do not substitute an assumed duration or lifetime benefit. A concern requires inspection before coverage or a remedy is approved.

Link to this answer

No. Equipment coverage concerns qualifying defects or failures in covered SPYNEX hardware. Kickin' Customs installation coverage concerns qualifying problems caused by our original installation under its separate written terms.

A vehicle fault, damaged accessory, outside change, or unrelated electronic issue may be a different responsibility. Diagnosis is needed to distinguish them. SPYNEX Warranty explains the two coverage paths and why a device problem does not automatically mean all labor or related costs are included.

Link to this answer

The start date or event must be confirmed in the written coverage for your exact SPYNEX product. Do not assume it starts from purchase, installation, manufacture, or the date a concern is reported.

Keep the invoice and supplied coverage documents together, and ask us to clarify any missing information before relying on a term. SPYNEX Warranty controls the current explanation. We do not borrow IGLA's start event or equipment duration for SPYNEX.

Link to this answer

Warranty transfer to another owner is not automatic. The written SPYNEX equipment and Kickin' Customs installation terms must establish whether any remaining coverage follows the purchaser, vehicle, system, or another approved condition.

Arrange a review before selling or buying a vehicle with SPYNEX already installed. Ownership and authorization also need a separate secure handoff. SPYNEX Warranty explains coverage review, while Sale Support addresses the owner-access change without passing private credentials through sale messages.

Link to this answer

Moving SPYNEX to another vehicle does not automatically restart warranty coverage. Remaining coverage, compatibility, condition, new parts, installation labor, and the controlling date all require written review.

If a transfer is approved, the work order identifies what is reused or replaced and which terms apply afterward. Do not arrange removal on the assumption that a new installation creates a new equipment warranty. See SPYNEX Warranty and Transfer Support before planning the move.

Link to this answer

Labor and related service costs depend on the active written terms, diagnosed cause, and exact work required. Equipment coverage alone does not automatically include diagnosis, removal, programming, shipping, or reinstallation.

Kickin' Customs inspects the concern before deciding what is covered and explains proposed chargeable work before proceeding. Do not assume the IGLA post-warranty labor benefit applies to SPYNEX. SPYNEX Warranty is the authority for coverage responsibilities and the inspection process.

Link to this answer

Do not assume a SPYNEX warranty covers theft loss, attempted-theft damage, collision, water damage, tampering, or outside work. Those circumstances need review under the actual written terms and any applicable insurance.

A warranty is not theft or vehicle insurance, and it does not automatically cover towing, rentals, deductibles, or other losses. Preserve ordinary service and incident records and contact us before altering the system. SPYNEX Warranty explains why the cause and terms must be reviewed before a coverage decision.

Link to this answer

Outside changes or removal can affect the system, the available diagnostic evidence, and the coverage review. Contact Kickin' Customs before another shop modifies, reprograms, removes, or replaces SPYNEX equipment.

Coverage is not decided by a blanket statement about all outside work; the written terms, actual changes, and diagnosed cause control. Keep the work records and do not assume reimbursement for another shop's bill. SPYNEX Warranty explains the inspection and approval process.

Link to this answer

Keep the original invoice or work order, written coverage, documented product information, vehicle and ownership details, and relevant service records. Records of battery work, keys, dealer updates, repairs, collisions, and added electronics can help explain a later concern.

Bring the vehicle for the arranged inspection and keep private owner materials secure. Do not upload PINs, passwords, pairing codes, or security-location images in an ordinary claim message. SPYNEX Warranty lists the information needed for an in-person review.

Link to this answer

Kickin' Customs may offer a paid inspection of a SPYNEX installation from elsewhere when it can be supported safely. We do not automatically assume responsibility for another installer's hardware, configuration, workmanship, or undocumented changes.

Provide ordinary installation records and the symptoms before booking so we can determine the appropriate next step. Support availability is separate from coverage. SPYNEX Warranty explains that distinction; no inspection request promises free repair or acceptance of another provider's warranty obligations.

Link to this answer

Keep the vehicle safe and contact Kickin' Customs if it suddenly will not start or drive as expected. If stranded, use roadside assistance; immediate danger belongs with emergency services.

Describe the symptom, recent work, and what still functions, without sending authorization secrets. Battery, keys, factory systems, software, remote start, and other electronics may be involved as well as SPYNEX. Immobilizer Troubleshooting helps organize the information for diagnosis. Do not keep trying to drive a vehicle with unsafe or unpredictable behavior.

Link to this answer

Use only the approved backup method already supplied for your installation, if available, and contact verified owner support when authorization stops working. Do not repeatedly guess PINs or follow an unrelated online reset or bypass procedure.

Tell us whether the concern involves the PIN, phone, Tag, or more than one method, plus any recent vehicle or device changes. Immobilizer Troubleshooting provides the safe support path. The symptom alone does not establish a failed SPYNEX device or approved warranty claim.

Link to this answer

Use your approved backup authorization method and request support if the Control app stops connecting. A connection concern can involve the phone, app, operating system, permissions, installed configuration, or vehicle conditions; it is not automatically an immobilizer failure.

Tell us what changed and whether another approved method still works. Phone and Tag Support is the correct route for setup-specific guidance. Do not send app passwords, pairing codes, or screenshots containing private owner information through the public inquiry.

Link to this answer

Use the approved backup method if available and contact Phone and Tag Support when a registered Tag is no longer recognized. The Tag's battery and condition, recent changes, and the vehicle's behavior all help guide the review.

Do not assume that buying another Tag or attempting a public pairing sequence will resolve the issue. We need to match the device and guidance to the installed SPYNEX product. Keep owner credentials and security details private while arranging help.

Link to this answer

Contact Kickin' Customs if a dealer software update changes authorization or other expected behavior. Keep the dealer's work record and describe what worked before, what changed afterward, and whether normal or remote-start use is affected.

Do not assume the prior configuration remains unchanged after programming or try to correct it with generic instructions. Software Update Support is the starting point for a configuration review or inspection. Any coverage question is assessed separately under the written terms and diagnosed cause.

Link to this answer

Arrange a verified SPYNEX ownership handoff before selling the vehicle. The buyer needs the correct product information and owner guidance, while the former owner's phone, Tag, app access, and private information require an appropriate access review.

Do not simply pass along secret credentials in a sales message or assume the warranty transfers. Sale Support covers the handoff, and SPYNEX Warranty controls coverage eligibility. If removal is preferred, request a separate quote before another provider starts work.

Link to this answer

Removal and reinstallation may be considered after compatibility, ownership, equipment condition, and support are reviewed. A system suitable for the current vehicle is not automatically suitable for the next one.

New parts, programming, professional installation, testing, and owner setup may be needed and are quoted separately. Use Transfer Support before arranging removal. Remaining warranty and any new coverage must be confirmed in writing; moving the equipment does not automatically restart its term.

Link to this answer

If stranded after business hours, prioritize a safe location and roadside assistance; use emergency services for immediate danger. Kickin' Customs does not promise around-the-clock support or immediate remote restoration of vehicle operation.

Leave a safe callback request through SPYNEX Owner Support or call 617-431-6858 for follow-up during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Describe ordinary symptoms and recent changes without sending PINs, credentials, wiring images, or private authorization procedures.
