Different components. Different coverage periods.
BlackVue North America currently lists the manufacturer terms below for qualifying manufacturer defects. Mistreatment and mishandling are not covered. Inspection determines whether a concern involves hardware, installation, power, storage, settings or connected service.
| Item | Period | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Dashcam hardware | 2 years | Manufacturer defects under current BlackVue North America terms. |
| Qualifying add-on cameras | 2 years | For dashcams purchased since January 1, 2024. |
| Mounts and cables | 2 years | Accessories under the current written terms. |
| Batteries and battery accessories | 1 year | Separate from the dashcam hardware period. |
| Memory cards | 1 year | Normal storage maintenance and timely footage backup remain important. |
| Consumables and small tools | No warranty | Tapes, cable clips, microSD card readers, pry tools and SIM ejector tools. |

The current written manufacturer terms control. Any separate Kickin’ Customs labor or installation coverage is governed by the written invoice or service approval.
A recording concern needs a cause, not a guess.
A camera that repeatedly loses power, a missing recording channel or a recurring malfunction may justify inspection. It does not establish a qualifying hardware defect by itself.
We review the camera, additional cameras, cables, mounts, parking battery, card, power, firmware, settings and prior work before recommending parts or routing a claim.
Memory cards can wear, become corrupted or overwrite older files. Warranty eligibility and routine storage care remain separate questions.
Defect coverage is not all-risk protection.
Do not assume coverage for outside damage or services the manufacturer has not promised. The written terms and the service decision control.
- Impact, collision, vandalism, theft damage, misuse, mishandling or unauthorized modification.
- Water or moisture damage that is not a qualifying manufacturer defect.
- Outside installation changes, damage caused by another party, cosmetic wear or consumable replacement.
- Lost, missing, overwritten, unreadable or unavailable footage, or storage problems outside the written terms.
- Cloud uptime, LTE coverage, GPS accuracy, Wi-Fi, app access, servers or network availability.
- Parking or battery runtime, notification timing, continuous remote viewing or guaranteed event capture.
- Towing, rentals, loss of use or income, insurance outcomes or other consequential costs unless a written policy expressly includes them.
Local recording and connected features are different questions.
A camera can still record locally when a remote feature is unavailable. Cloud, LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, alerts and app functions depend on the model, compatible equipment, software, account, service, permissions, network, signal and configuration.
A hardware warranty does not guarantee connectivity, Cloud retention, instant notifications or continuous access. An unavailable remote feature is not automatically a hardware claim.
Product coverage and labor are separate.
Do not assume diagnostic time, removal, reinstallation, programming, configuration, account work or related labor is included in a manufacturer hardware warranty. There is no blanket free-labor or lifetime-labor promise here.
Kickin’ Customs explains any applicable labor and separate installation coverage before work begins. No parts return, removal, rewiring, replacement or installation change should begin before the installed system has been evaluated, unless safety requires otherwise.
