What to Expect From an Exterior Film.
Clear, With a Surface of Its Own
The film is designed for normal outward visibility. An edge can be visible on close inspection, and outside viewing through polarized sunglasses may show rainbowing. We assess vehicle-specific equipment and existing visibility concerns before installation.
Routine Care Matters
Keep the film and wipers clean, use washer fluid before wiping road grit, and replace worn blades. Avoid ice scrapers and snow brushes directly on the film. Follow the first 48-hour care instructions.

Severe impacts can still damage both film and glass. Existing damage is not repaired by film. Road exposure and wiper use gradually wear the exterior layer, so professional inspection and eventual replacement are part of ownership.
Support After Installation.
Your installation includes one complimentary WPF Restore application at approximately six months. Follow the Restore instructions supplied for your film and product between visits, and contact us if water repellency or clarity changes sooner.

Defined Product Coverage.
Qualifying professional installations carry XPEL’s limited warranty for one year or 12,000 miles driven from installation, whichever comes first. It covers qualifying film defects, including yellowing, cracking, blistering, and delamination. It does not cover windshield damage or normal wear.

Is windshield protection film worth considering for my vehicle?
It can be useful when you drive frequent highway miles, have an exposed upright windshield, or want to preserve original or specialty glass. We review your vehicle, glass condition and driving needs before recommending installation.
Can you protect a windshield that already has chips or scratches?
We inspect it first. Film does not repair existing damage, and chips, cracks, heavy pitting or deep scratches can remain visible. Glass repair or replacement may be needed before installation.
Can WPF be installed on replacement glass or over a glass coating?
Potentially. Tell us about replacement glass, coatings and existing film. We review the surface and any additional preparation before confirming the installation.
Will it change visibility or affect my vehicle’s equipment?
XPEL WPF is clear and intended for normal outward visibility. The perimeter can be visible on close inspection, and outside viewing through polarized sunglasses may reveal rainbowing. We review cameras, HUD, heated glass and unusual equipment for the specific vehicle.
Do I need new wiper blades?
XPEL recommends starting with premium wiper blades in good condition. Worn or contaminated blades can mark the film. Replacement blades are separately quoted when needed.
How long will the film last?
Mileage, road exposure, weather, parking, wiper condition and care all affect service life. Worn or damaged film can be professionally assessed and replaced. The warranty term is not a guaranteed replacement interval.
What does installation cost?
Qualifying short windshields under 60 inches across start at $350. Standard or larger windshields start at $550. We confirm your category and final quote from the vehicle and glass condition; you do not need to measure it.
