Clear Headlight Protection
A transparent protective layer for suitable lenses. It helps reduce everyday wear while retaining the original appearance.

PROTECT THE LENS. UNDERSTAND THE CHOICE.
Protect suitable headlight lenses without intentionally darkening them, or discuss a cosmetic change with the lighting and road-use implications clearly explained. Every recommendation starts with your actual vehicle.
PROTECTION AND STYLING SERVE DIFFERENT GOALS
A transparent protective layer for suitable lenses. It helps reduce everyday wear while retaining the original appearance.
A styling film that reduces transmitted light. Suitability, lamp performance and inspection eligibility need review.
Your headlights and taillights do not necessarily need the same treatment. Clear protection may be appropriate for your headlights while a separate review determines whether any cosmetic rear-lamp treatment is suitable. We evaluate each lamp and its required functions individually.
Your selections can be reviewed and changed in the inquiry below.
WHEN PROTECTION COMES FIRST
Clear XPEL PPF adds a transparent layer over eligible headlight lenses. It helps against light scratches, scuffs, pitting, contamination and some road-debris damage.
Clear protection does not intentionally darken the lamp. We review the lens and choose a suitable film for that specific application.
A strong impact can still penetrate film or crack a lens. Film cannot make an old, yellowed, cracked or failing headlight new again.

STYLE HAS A TRADEOFF
Yes. Any smoke film reduces transmitted light to some degree. How much it matters depends on the lamp, the film, the original lens and the driving conditions. A bright-looking photo is not proof of safe nighttime performance.
Headlight reach can be reduced. Brake lights and signals can become less noticeable in daylight, rain or glare. Reverse lights and reflectors can also become less effective.
If lighting performance is your priority, choose clear protection or leave the lamp original.
Start with a current physical sample and a review of your actual lights, registration state and road use. We can discuss eligible XPEL Slate Smoke options when the product and application support the project.
Even light smoke film reduces light output. Darker shades can make your lights harder to see and may create inspection problems. We may recommend clear protection or decline an unsuitable shade. A product’s shade name or percentage does not mean it is approved for road use.
Required headlamps must display white light, rear lamps must display red light, and lighting must meet the applicable performance requirements. We cannot promise that cosmetic film will pass inspection.
The official inspection manual prohibits colored or tinted headlamp lenses and modifications that change a lamp’s original design or performance. A smoke-film request does not establish road-use eligibility.
These are vehicle-lighting requirements, separate from window-tint limits. A film shade label, sample or window-tint meter reading does not certify a lamp modification. We may recommend clear protection, limited coverage or no film after review.

LOOK BEYOND THE RED LENS

A taillight may contain brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, markers and reflectors in the same housing. Each function needs its own review.
Your quote may leave a reverse-light section, reflector or another area uncovered. We also review sequential and animated lamps through their operating cycle.
Dark factory lights on another vehicle do not prove that added smoke film is suitable for yours.
CHECK THE LIGHTS BEFORE CHOOSING FILM
A stable factory lens is usually the most predictable starting point. Shape, molded details, tight corners, washers, sensors, cameras and access still affect what we can cover.
Yellowing may need restoration first. Cracks, peeling lens coatings or moisture inside the lamp call for repair or replacement. Film cannot solve those problems.
Tell us about replacements, repairs, coatings and old film. We may need an in-person inspection and a written risk review before accepting the work.
Some lamps need a planned seam or separate pieces. Edges and molded details may remain visible, and some areas may stay uncovered. We explain that before installation.
Thinking about future removal? Aged, repaired, coated or damaged lenses may not remain unchanged when film comes off.
FROM YOUR IDEA TO PICKUP
Share the vehicle, registration state, road use and the lights you want protected or changed. Let us know about an upcoming inspection or visibility concern.
We inspect the lenses and functions, compare suitable physical samples, and agree on the coverage, limitations, price and schedule.
We clean the eligible lenses and install the film using a pattern or approach suited to their shape. Necessary seams and uncovered areas are planned in advance.
We check the relevant lamp functions and explain curing, care and written warranty terms. This operating check is not an inspection certificate.
A QUOTE FOR YOUR VEHICLE
There is no single price for every pair of lights.
Many eligible, straightforward projects can be same-day services after the film and coverage are approved.
The number, size and shape of the lamps; clear or smoke film; lens condition; old film removal; and the access needed to fit the film all affect the work.
Your written quote identifies the lamps, film, shade, covered areas, exclusions and expected seams. We inspect and prepare the eligible lenses, fit the film, review lamp operation and explain care.
Restoration, repairs, lens replacement and old-film removal are not automatically included. Complex lamps, trim removal, lens concerns or combined services can need more time. Your appointment confirmation sets the schedule.
LOOK AFTER THE FILM AND THE LIGHTS
Follow your delivery instructions before washing. Use a clean microfiber mitt and pH-neutral automotive soap. Keep brushes and pressure-washer spray away from the film edges.
Remove bugs, salt and road dirt with film-safe products. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and high heat. Do not polish a matte or satin finish into shiny patches.
Persistent lifting, cracking, discoloration or a change in light performance needs attention. Contact us before trimming, gluing or pressing down an edge.
There is no universal lifespan. Film, shade, heat, sun, road debris, winter driving, storage, washing and lens shape all affect it. A warranty term is not a promise of unchanged appearance.
Wet-applied film can show temporary moisture, haze or small water pockets while curing. Follow the instructions supplied with your vehicle.
Qualifying installations include a one-year Kickin’ Customs workmanship warranty under the written terms. Any manufacturer coverage depends on the exact XPEL product and eligible application.
Coverage does not insure the lamp assembly, road-impact damage, inspection failure or citations. We explain the applicable terms when the film is selected.
Read the workmanship termsSee the film maintenance guide. Follow the care instructions for your specific lamp film.
Follow the material-specific washing and curing instructions provided at pickup for your selected lamp film.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
It is quoted for your vehicle. Lamp size and count, film, lens condition, access, necessary seams and old-film removal affect the price.
No. Clear PPF is for protection without intentionally darkening the lamp. Smoke film changes the visible tone and reduces transmitted light.
Yes, eligible clear XPEL protection and XPEL Slate Smoke options can be considered when the exact product, lens, application and current manufacturer terms support the work.
We review current physical samples with your vehicle and requested use. Availability can change, and a product shade label does not prove road-use or inspection eligibility.
Yes. Every smoke film reduces transmitted light to some degree. The effect depends on the lamp, film, original lens and conditions.
Massachusetts requires compliant white headlamps, red rear lamps, visibility and lighting performance. We cannot promise that a cosmetic shade will pass inspection.
The Rhode Island inspection manual prohibits colored or tinted headlamp lenses and changes to original lamp design or performance. Clear protection or no film is the road-use direction.
We cannot guarantee it. Required colors, visibility, reflectors, operating functions, film, vehicle condition and state rules all matter.
Possibly, after reviewing every function. The quote may leave reverse lights, markers, reflectors or other areas uncovered.
Not where coverage would prevent the required color or visibility. Leaving them uncovered may be the appropriate plan.
No. We select lamp-appropriate film or clear PPF. Window film is designed for glass and is not a substitute for exterior lamp film.
No. It can help reduce exposure and some everyday wear, but it cannot guarantee against yellowing, coating failure, chips or a cracked lens.
The lens may need restoration or replacement first. Film does not repair yellowing, cracks, peeling coatings or moisture inside the lamp.
Sometimes, following inspection and a written risk review. The lens material, coatings and future removal behavior may be uncertain.
Possibly. Curves, sharp points, molded details and access can require seams, separate pieces, visible edges or uncovered areas.
Many eligible straightforward projects are. Complex lamps, old film, lens concerns or combined services can take longer. We confirm your schedule before the visit.
It varies with the film, shade, heat, exposure, care, storage and condition of the lens. Manufacturer coverage and practical appearance life are different.
Professional removal is possible, but an aged, repaired, coated or compromised lens cannot be guaranteed to remain unchanged.
Qualifying installations include one year of workmanship coverage under the written terms. Manufacturer coverage depends on the selected product. Neither guarantees the lamp itself, legal compliance or inspection passage.
No. We may suggest clear film, limit the coverage or decline the request if the lights, lens condition, registration state or intended use make it unsuitable.
