XPEL Window Film Warranty

XPEL Window Tint Warranty

XPEL PRIME automotive window film warranty coverage, exclusions, claim steps, and the original warranty document.

Manufacturer Coverage, in Plain English

XPEL’s PRIME Automotive Window Film warranty covers specified manufacturing defects for the life of the vehicle from initial installation, subject to the written terms and professional-installation requirements.

A scratch, broken window or accidental damage is a different concern from a film defect. Not sure? Send us the concern and we can inspect it.

Coverage begins on the original installation date and applies only to professionally installed XPEL PRIME Automotive Window Film installed in accordance with XPEL guidelines.

What the Warranty Covers

XPEL warrants that eligible PRIME Automotive Window Film will remain free from qualifying manufacturer defects for the life of the vehicle.

Covered defects include:

• Discoloration
• Fading
• Bubbling
• Peeling
• Cracking
• Delamination

This warranty covers defects caused by the film itself. XPEL makes the final determination on whether a condition qualifies as a manufacturer defect.

What Is Not Covered

XPEL’s manufacturer warranty is intended to cover film defects. It does not cover damage, wear, or issues caused by outside conditions, improper care, or conditions unrelated to the film itself.

The XPEL manufacturer warranty does not cover:

• Damage caused by harsh cleaners, solvents, physical abuse, misuse, excessive heat, excessive cold, or thermal shock
• Damage caused by improper handling, storage, installation, care, or use outside XPEL guidelines
• Stains, scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips, or other cosmetic damage to the tinted surface
• Damage caused by improper washing methods, automatic car washes, abrasive wash tools, or work performed by an unauthorized third party
• Collision damage, accidental damage, vandalism, fire, hail, flooding, paint overspray, surface rust, rail dust, or other outside events
• Damage caused by glass manufacturer defects
• Film installed with known or visible defects at the time of installation
• Non-automotive applications
• Any condition that XPEL determines is not caused by a manufacturing defect in the film

If the film is scratched, damaged, or affected by an outside event, replacement may still be possible as a paid repair. Those situations are not manufacturer warranty claims.

What Happens if a Claim Is Approved?

If XPEL determines that the window film has a qualifying manufacturer defect, the affected film may be removed and replaced without charge through an XPEL-authorized installer selected by XPEL.

XPEL determines the covered area and the appropriate repair process under the terms of its limited warranty. For approved claims, XPEL covers the applicable film and labor for the authorized replacement.

Any replacement film remains covered only for the balance of the original warranty period. A replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty term.

Is the Warranty Transferable?

Yes. The XPEL PRIME Automotive Window Film warranty may transfer to a new vehicle owner when proof of the original installation date is submitted to XPEL.

Transferred coverage applies only for the remaining balance of the original warranty period.

Kickin’ Customs Window Film Replacement Benefit

Qualifying tint packages include our three-year Window Film Replacement Benefit for eligible accidental or customer-caused film damage.

  • One film replacement on one covered roll-down side window during the three-year term.
  • For the original customer and original vehicle only.
  • Return to Kickin’ Customs for the covered replacement.
  • The glass itself is not covered. Standalone windshield, windshield-strip, and roof work do not automatically qualify.

Written eligibility, exclusions, proof requirements, scheduling, and claim procedures apply. This is not a same-day replacement guarantee. Contact us to confirm whether your installation qualifies before arranging service.

This benefit is provided by Kickin’ Customs and is separate from XPEL’s manufacturer defect warranty. It does not change XPEL’s warranty coverage or claim decisions.
