Solar-control films vary in daylight, reflection and exterior appearance. We compare samples on your glass to help balance comfort with the look and view you want to keep. We also explain the selected film’s UV performance and suitability for your property.

Privacy That Matches the Way You Use the Space

See how the view through reflective glass changes between daylight and a brightly lit interior after dark. Compare actual samples for the privacy and outward view you need.

See the Difference Between Day and Night

Daytime view from outside: bright sky and trees reflect in the glass, limiting the view into the darker room.

When outside is brighter, reflective film may reduce the view into the darker interior. The interior may retain more outward view.

Reflective daytime privacy

Usually relies on outside being brighter. A brighter interior can reverse the privacy direction after dark.

Frosted, patterned or opaque

Frosted film diffuses detail but may show shapes or shadows. Opaque film blocks the covered view; open areas around bands remain visible.

Know What the Glass System Is Designed to Do

Safety/security film and anti-graffiti film are different products with different jobs. Choose them for the actual concern and opening.

Rendered example of fractured storefront glass retained together within its frame.

Safety and security systems

Film may help retain fractured glass; a specified system may add time and effort to selected entry attempts. Film, glass, frame and attachment where required work together. Glass remains breakable, and entry or injury prevention is not guaranteed.

Replaceable anti-graffiti film

A sacrificial layer can take selected surface marking or scratching on compatible glass. Replace it when appropriate. It does not repair existing damage, stop every attack or provide structural, impact-proof or self-healing protection.

Explore Anti-Graffiti Film

Film does not replace alarms, locks, access control or emergency procedures. Defined threats and regulated projects need documented system and professional review; ballistic protection or code compliance is not assumed.

A few useful answers

Questions Before You Start

What types of film can be considered for a business?

We review solar-control, privacy, decorative, safety/security and anti-graffiti goals for compatible commercial glass. XPEL VISION options and other established product choices are selected against the actual glazing, intended result and current project requirements.

What can film do for heat, glare and UV exposure?

Solar-control film can help manage selected solar heat and glare. Results depend on the glass, orientation, shading, season, HVAC and how the space is used. A fixed temperature change, specific energy saving or elimination of every hot spot is not promised. Many architectural films filter a high percentage of UV, but exact performance is product-specific and film does not eliminate every cause of fading.

Does reflective privacy work at night?

Reflective privacy normally depends on outside being brighter than inside. When the interior becomes brighter, privacy can weaken or reverse. Frosted, patterned, opaque treatments or physical coverings may better suit privacy needed at different times.

Can people still see shapes through frosted film?

They may. Frosted and translucent treatments diffuse light and obscure detail, but outlines, color, shadows or movement can remain visible depending on distance, lighting and the film. Opaque treatment blocks the covered view from both sides and reduces transmitted light.

Can we add logos, patterns or privacy bands?

Yes, on suitable glass after artwork, file rights, dimensions, placement, appearance and production details are approved. Uncovered areas remain visible. Digital concepts explain direction; a physical sample helps assess actual transparency, reflection and finish.

Does safety or security film prevent forced entry?

No entry-prevention guarantee applies. Film may help retain broken glass, and a properly specified system may add time and effort to selected entry attempts. Film, glass, frame and any required attachment work together. This is not automatic ballistic protection, injury prevention, code approval or a substitute for the wider security plan.

What does anti-graffiti film protect against?

It is a replaceable layer for compatible glass exposed to selected surface marking or scratching. Damage that reaches the glass, breakage, deep impact, chemicals or other severe exposure can exceed protection. It does not repair existing damage and is not vandal-proof, structural or self-healing.

Can film be installed on any glass or over existing film?

No. Glass construction, coatings, frame, pane condition, existing film, partial shading and exposure need review. Chips, cracks, failed seals, fogging, leaks or specialty glazing can require further assessment, removal, exclusion or another trade. Unknown information is acceptable at the first inquiry.

What should a tenant arrange before installation?

Confirm owner or landlord permission and any franchise, association, sign or facility requirements. We also plan around doors, hardware, emergency routes, displays, occupants and access. Necessary permits or regulatory approvals remain with the responsible project parties.

How much does commercial film cost, and can work be phased?

The written quote reflects measured glass, film, preparation, removal, custom design, attachment where needed, equipment, access and scheduling. Business-hour, phased and after-hours arrangements can be discussed. Availability and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed.

When can the film be cleaned?

Follow the product-specific cure instructions supplied for the installation. Haze, moisture pockets or optical changes can remain during drying. Film, glass, temperature, humidity and exposure affect timing. Use approved cleaners and soft tools; avoid blades, abrasives and unapproved chemicals.

What warranty applies to commercial glass?

The exact film, commercial property, glazing, installation side, approvals and current written documents determine coverage. XPEL VISION product coverage, any approved extended glass or seal coverage, shop workmanship and building responsibilities are separate. Residential or automotive terms do not automatically apply.
