Protect useful areas
Focus on predictable contact zones, or plan broader coordinated above-waterline coverage when the vessel and your priorities support it.

Clear Protection for the Areas Your Boat Uses Most
Help protect selected above-waterline paint and gelcoat from light scuffs and everyday abrasion with clear marine protection film. Choose focused coverage for contact areas or broader coverage on suitable surfaces with Kickin’ Customs in Raynham, serving Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
A physical wear layer
Dockside gear, servicing, cleaning and repeated handling can wear the same places on a boat. Marine PPF places clear urethane film over selected compatible paint, gelcoat and hard surfaces, so the replaceable film helps take light scuffs and everyday abrasion before they reach the finish beneath it.
Focus on predictable contact zones, or plan broader coordinated above-waterline coverage when the vessel and your priorities support it.
Clear film leaves the underlying color and finish visible. The existing texture and condition still matter to the finished appearance.
Define separate coverage sections, accessible edges and service clearances so inspection and eventual replacement are considered from the start.
PPF does not replace fenders, careful docking or proper equipment use. It is not bottom protection, antifouling, structural repair or a guarantee against damage. Walking, non-skid and grip-critical surfaces need a separate safety and product decision.
Choose what matters on your boat
Show us where scuffs keep appearing or which areas you want to preserve. We can recommend focused coverage first, then discuss broader coverage if it suits your boat and priorities.
Select several areas if you like. You can change your request at any time; selections do not approve installation coverage.
Help protect the cowling finish from cleaning, handling and service scuffs while retaining access to vents, fasteners, graphics and equipment.
Help preserve the finish where repeated contact affects selected hull-side areas above the actual waterline, with rub rails, lift points, contours and markings kept in the plan.
Add a replaceable wear layer where fenders, lines or gear repeatedly contact the finish.
Help protect frequently handled painted or gelcoat panels from light scuffs. We review compatibility around hardware, curves, controls and service openings.
Help preserve selected rigid interior finishes from everyday contact, after checking texture, cleaners, touch, food contact, electronics and intended use.
Preserve more of the finish by coordinating several compatible above-waterline areas. We will discuss seams, appearance, access and replacement before defining the plan.

Different jobs, different systems
A clear physical wear layer over selected compatible above-waterline finishes. Film has thickness, edges and eventual replacement needs.
Primarily changes color, graphics, names or accents. Appearance film is not a substitute for PPF’s physical protection.
A thin treatment for supported water repellency and easier cleaning. It does not provide the physical layer of PPF.

The value of careful planning
We review the finish, existing products and actual condition before agreeing on preparation. Stable, fully cured compatible paint or gelcoat may be suitable. Oxidation, chalking, failed clear, corrosion, blisters, cracks, repairs and contamination must be addressed rather than hidden under film.

Cleaning, decontamination, approved correction and any old-film removal are identified in the proposal. Repair, restoration and work by another trade are separate decisions.
Large or complex panels can require seams, overlaps, reliefs and separate sections. Not every edge can be wrapped, and film can stop before hardware, waterlines, recesses or textured areas.
Plan around fittings, drains, seals, service points, labels, graphics and registration markings. Required visibility and access take priority over continuous coverage.
Repainted, refinished or unknown surfaces need cure and adhesion review. A small test cannot guarantee uniform adhesion, appearance or damage-free future removal. Removing film can disturb weak paint, repairs, graphics or an unstable finish; age, prior products and marine exposure affect that risk.
Covered and uncovered finishes can weather differently. Replacement sections may differ from surrounding aged film or finish. Removal and repair are assessed when needed.
Undersides, hidden areas, under-hardware coverage, disassembly and reassembly are not automatically included. Cowling heat and vents, interior food-contact areas and cleaner exposure are considered where relevant.
Professional installation
Show us the areas you want to protect and tell us how you use your boat. We check the finish and access, then recommend coverage that fits your priorities.
Review the areas to be covered, preparation, film edges and seams, price and timing. We confirm the plan with you before installation.
We protect the work area, clean and prepare the agreed surfaces, then carefully fit the film around the boat’s shape and accessible fittings.
We inspect the film and walk you through the finished coverage. You receive cleaning, settling and return-to-use guidance, along with your warranty information.
A proposal for your vessel
Coverage, panel geometry, finish condition, preparation, seams, hardware and access determine the written quote. Share the vessel and your priorities first. Exact measurements, product knowledge and photographs are not required to begin.
The setting must support safe access, stable support, controlled contamination and suitable temperature, humidity, light and cure protection. Marina, yard, dealer or storage-site work depends on permission, conditions and availability. Dockside work is not guaranteed.
Hauling, blocking, lifts, storage, utilities and work by other providers are assigned separately. Working time, total project duration, settling and return to service are different. Launch, transport, washing, covers, fenders and lines follow the written handoff.
Kickin’ Customs has served vehicle and property owners from Raynham since 2012. For your vessel, we bring the discussion back to the actual finish, useful product choices and an agreed written plan.

Know what to expect
XPEL Marine Protection Film has a self-healing topcoat that can allow some light surface marks to improve over time under suitable conditions. Cuts, gouges, missing film, adhesive damage and vessel damage do not heal. Avoid uncontrolled heat and ask us to inspect a concern.
Use the product-specific cure and first-wash directions, compatible cleaners and soft tools. Remove contamination promptly and protect seams and edges from concentrated pressure, harsh chemicals and abrasion.
XPEL provides a three-year limited Marine Protection Film warranty for qualifying professionally installed above-waterline applications, subject to its written terms and exclusions. The applicable installation, registration and use requirements control. The warranty period is not guaranteed film life or accidental-damage coverage.
Salt, minerals, fuel, sunscreen, fish residue, heat, covers, fenders and repeated contact affect appearance and wear. Film does not guarantee oxidation or fading prevention. Report lifting, unusual appearance or damage before peeling, heating, polishing or attempting repair.
Product defects, workmanship concerns, external damage and underlying-finish failure have different review routes. Contact the shop with the affected area and records so we can identify the appropriate next step.

Some light marks in the film’s self-healing topcoat can improve over time under suitable conditions.

Cuts, tears and missing film do not self-heal. Contact us to assess the affected area and discuss replacement.
If you notice damage or a lifting edge, leave the film in place and contact us before peeling, heating or attempting a repair.
Marine PPF FAQs
Marine PPF is a clear urethane film installed on selected compatible above-waterline hard surfaces. It adds a sacrificial physical layer that can help reduce routine wear while allowing the underlying finish to remain visible.
Potential areas include selected hull sides above the waterline, engine cowlings, predictable contact zones, consoles, painted or gelcoat panels, and certain interior hard surfaces. Exact surface, condition, geometry, exposure, access, and product approval control eligibility.
No below-waterline service should be inferred from this page. Bottom protection, antifouling, barrier coating, and underwater repair are separate marine disciplines. The exact approved product and written coverage map control every installation.
It can help reduce selected light surface wear, but it is not scratch-proof or impact-proof. Cuts, punctures, gouges, repeated abrasion, dock impacts, ropes, fenders, gear, chemicals, heat, and other exposure can damage the film or vessel.
XPEL Marine Protection Film has a self-healing topcoat that can allow some light surface marks to improve over time under suitable conditions. Missing film, cuts, punctures, tears, gouges, heavy abrasion, lifted edges, chemical damage, or substrate damage do not self-heal.
Marine PPF is clear and designed to keep your boat’s color and finish visible. It blends in well, but film edges and seams may be noticeable up close or in certain lighting. We plan their placement with you before installation.
Do not treat PPF as a guarantee against oxidation or fading. A qualifying film may reduce direct exposure of the covered finish, but surface condition, ultraviolet radiation, heat, salt, contamination, storage, care, and uncovered areas still matter.
Not automatically. Oxidation, chalking, cracks, crazing, blisters, failed clear, corrosion, repairs, contamination, and other unstable conditions can prevent installation or require correction by an appropriate provider before review continues.
Repainted, touched-up, repaired, refinished, or unknown surfaces require elevated review. Cure, adhesion, repair quality, defects, and future removal risk must be considered, and installation may be declined.
Their placement must be planned. Graphics, decals, names, numbers, and required markings can affect adhesion, seams, replacement, removal, visibility, and future service. The approved coverage and marking plan controls.
No. Vessel geometry, hardware, rub rails, seals, textures, curves, recesses, access, service points, water exposure, and surface approval can require visible edge terminations or exclusions.
Not necessarily. Large or complex areas can require seams, overlaps, reliefs, or separate sections. The proposal should define the planned coverage and realistic appearance before installation.
Yes, qualifying film can be removed, but damage-free removal cannot be guaranteed. Paint, gelcoat, clear coat, repairs, touch-up, graphics, decals, age, exposure, adhesion, and removal method affect risk.
There is no universal service-life promise. Exact film, surface, orientation, vessel use, storage, salt, heat, ultraviolet exposure, chemicals, cleaning, edges, seams, damage, and care affect performance and appearance.
XPEL provides a three-year limited Marine Protection Film warranty for qualifying professionally installed above-waterline applications, subject to its written terms and exclusions. Product, vessel, surface, installation, registration, use, care, records and claim requirements control coverage. The warranty period is not guaranteed film life or accidental-damage coverage.
No. Accidental damage is not covered by the product warranty. If the film is damaged by an impact, cut or other accident, contact us to review the affected area and discuss replacement.
Marine PPF is vessel-specific and quote-only. Price depends on the exact film, surfaces, coverage, condition, preparation, geometry, patterns, film usage, seams, edges, hardware, access, installation setting, third-party requirements, and schedule basis.
That depends on the coverage, access, vessel movement, safety, installation environment, product, and project requirements. The written proposal must define vessel status, installation location, and responsibility before scheduling.
A marina, yard, dealer, storage, or other site may be evaluated. Permission, insurance, access, equipment, utilities, protected work conditions, security, schedule, and current service availability must be confirmed in writing.
Start with the vessel description, your goal and general town or project area. Known surface condition and desired timing help, but exact dimensions and photos are optional. Ask our team for a private way to share useful records; do not include exact vessel location, access codes, registration or private navigation information in this planner.
Show the vessel type and target area without registration, vessel name, private location or navigation information.
Include condition, existing products, edges, hardware and material labels where safely accessible. Do not disturb damaged or hazardous areas.
Ask our team how to share photos, artwork or records securely. This planner does not upload files. You can inquire without photographs.
