Understanding Your XPEL Ceramic Coating Warranty
XPEL provides product-specific limited warranties for qualifying coating defects. Your installed product, treated surfaces, and original paperwork determine which terms apply. This guide explains the differences and how we can help arrange an inspection.
- Annual inspection
- Review your installed product’s inspection requirements and arrange any required inspection with your original certified installer.
- Coating concern
- Describe what changed, including the affected surface. An inspection can help distinguish contamination, maintenance needs, installation concerns and possible product defects.
- Find your warranty
- Select your installed coating in the coverage table and open its official warranty PDF.
Kickin’ Customs can assist with coatings installed here. If your coating was installed elsewhere, normally start with your original certified installer or ask XPEL which installer can help.
This page is a plain-English summary. The applicable XPEL warranty document contains the complete terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions for your installed product.
Keep your inspection date and installation records handy. Check the inspection requirements for your product.
XPEL FUSION PLUS Warranty Coverage by Product
These summaries concern failures caused by a qualifying manufacturing defect, subject to the product’s written conditions and exclusions. The listed maximum is not an automatic payment.
Scroll the table sideways to view all coverage details.
| Product | Term from installation | Covered surface | Listed conditions | Maximum approved coverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FUSION PLUS LITE | 1 year | Vehicle paint and XPEL PPF finish | Oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, color fading | Lesser of coating application cost or $1,000 |
| FUSION PLUS CLASSIC | 4 Years | Vehicle paint finish and XPEL Paint Protection Film finish | Oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, and color fading | Lesser of application cost or $1,000 |
| FUSION PLUS PREMIUM v2 | 8 Years | Vehicle paint finish and XPEL Paint Protection Film finish | Oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, and color fading | Lesser of application cost or $1,000 |
| FUSION PLUS SATIN | 4 Years | Eligible satin vehicle paint finish | Oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, and color fading | Lesser of application cost or $1,000 |
| FUSION PLUS WHEEL & CALIPER | 3 Years | Wheels and calipers | Loss of gloss and environmental contaminant staining | Lesser of application cost or $500 |
| FUSION PLUS GLASS | 2 Years | Vehicle glass | Loss of hydrophobicity and environmental contaminant staining | Lesser of application cost or $500 |
| FUSION PLUS UPHOLSTERY v2 | 2 Years | Carpet, fabric, leather, and vinyl | Fading and non-removable staining | Lesser of application cost or $250 |
| FUSION PLUS PLASTIC & TRIM | 1 Year | Exterior plastic and trim | Environmental contaminant staining and fading | Lesser of application cost or $250 |
Use the actual installed revision and its paperwork. Product compatibility does not automatically extend warranty coverage to every surface. The linked SATIN warranty names the vehicle paint finish; its technical applications also include XPEL STEALTH PPF. Do not assume identical contractual coverage for film or vinyl.
Annual Inspection Requirements and Timing
Book your required coating inspection with the certified installer who applied the coating. XPEL’s general care instructions direct owners to the original installer. If you have moved or need another installer, contact XPEL first to confirm the arrangement.
- Products with an annual clause: CLASSIC, PREMIUM v2, SATIN, WHEEL & CALIPER, GLASS, UPHOLSTERY v2, and PLASTIC & TRIM.
- When: within 30 days before or after the anniversary of installation or the previous inspection/service date identified in the applicable warranty. Ask us to confirm the due date from your records. An ordinary wash does not automatically reset it.
- Records: keep the invoice, product registration, treated-area details, and proof of each required inspection.
- Charges: washing, decontamination, interior detailing, and inspection may involve charges. We confirm the applicable work before proceeding.
XPEL states that missing the required inspection window voids the applicable limited warranty. The LITE document linked below does not contain a separate annual-inspection clause; LITE owners should confirm their installation paperwork and care requirements with their original installer.
Signature and Signature Complete include the first annual maintenance wash. That is separate from inspection requirements and is not a promise of unlimited maintenance or complimentary inspections. Neither maintenance nor reapplication restarts the original warranty term.
PREMIUM v2: The warranty’s annual-inspection wording also lists a single-layer FUSION PLUS LITE application. Confirm the applicable work and any charges when arranging your inspection.
Request a Coating InspectionWhat the Manufacturer Warranty Covers
A change in appearance or water behavior is a reason to have the coating checked. You do not need to determine its cause before contacting us.
| Product group | What its document lists |
|---|---|
| LITE, CLASSIC, PREMIUM v2 and SATIN | Specified oxidation, gloss loss, UV damage, and color fading from a qualifying coating defect. |
| WHEEL & CALIPER | Specified gloss loss and environmental-contaminant staining. Brake-dust damage and water spots remain excluded. |
| GLASS | Specified loss of water repellency and environmental-contaminant staining. This is not protection against cracked or chipped glass. |
| UPHOLSTERY v2 | Specified fading and non-removable staining on eligible carpet, fabric, leather, and vinyl. Alcantara and suede are excluded. |
| PLASTIC & TRIM | Specified environmental-contaminant staining and fading on the eligible exterior surfaces. |
Staining depends on the product and cause. Some warranties expressly list particular staining conditions while also excluding minor stains, damage, or improper care. Staining is not automatically covered or automatically excluded; the installed product, cause and written terms determine eligibility. We inspect the surface, document the concern, and use the applicable terms for XPEL’s review.
What the Manufacturer Warranty Does Not Cover
The coating warranty addresses specified product defects, not every change in the vehicle beneath it. The complete exclusions remain in each official document.
- Physical and outside damage: scratches, swirls, scuffs, rock impacts, collisions, vandalism, fire, flooding, overspray, and the other outside causes listed for the product.
- Water spots and improper care: mineral deposits, abrasive tools, unsuitable chemicals, damaging wash methods, misuse, or failure to follow the product instructions.
- Existing or underlying defects: failing clear coat, damaged materials, vehicle-manufacturer defects, or known damage present before application.
- Altered areas: repaired, repainted, replaced, or refinished surfaces that require fresh coating. Reapplication after that work is not automatically a warranty repair.
- Ineligible uses: non-automotive applications and product-specific excluded materials, including Alcantara and suede for UPHOLSTERY v2.
Routine residue may need cleaning or maintenance. Installation concerns, damage, and qualifying product defects require different next steps. An inspection helps establish which applies; not every stain or change in beading calls for replacement.

How to Request an Inspection
Start by telling us what changed or which inspection you need. Your vehicle and a short description are enough to begin, even if the product name or installation date is unknown.
Useful for Your First Inquiry
- Vehicle year, make, and model.
- The affected surface, what you noticed, and when it began.
- The original installer and approximate installation date, if known.
Records for Manufacturer Review
Have your warranty card or registration, original invoice showing the coated areas, and inspection records ready. XPEL may also require your contact and installation details, a written description, and supporting photos. We will explain how to provide documents or photos when arranging the inspection.
Kickin’ Customs inspects and documents the concern, reviews available records, and helps submit the information when manufacturer review is appropriate. XPEL determines eligibility and the authorized remedy before manufacturer claim work proceeds.
You may also use XPEL’s official manufacturer claim process through its warranty information page. A request to Kickin’ Customs does not itself file or approve a manufacturer claim.
Request a Warranty InspectionWhat Happens if XPEL Approves a Claim?
XPEL may authorize removal and reapplication of the affected coating, or a product-cost refund, under the applicable document. XPEL determines the covered areas, available product, and authorized process. The documents assign product coverage to XPEL and installation labor to the authorized installer.
The maximum replacement cost is limited to the lesser of that coating application’s cost or its listed product limit. A full vehicle package price is not automatically the application cost for every coated surface. This is not a promise of payment for polishing, refinishing, vehicle repairs, transportation, or other associated work.
Approved replacement remains within the original warranty period. It does not restart or extend it.
Is the Warranty Transferable?
Yes. Eligible XPEL FUSION PLUS warranties may transfer to a new vehicle owner when proof of the original installation date is submitted to XPEL.
Transferred coverage applies only for the remaining balance of the original warranty term.

How long is the XPEL FUSION PLUS warranty?
LITE and PLASTIC & TRIM have one-year terms; GLASS and UPHOLSTERY v2 have two-year terms; WHEEL & CALIPER has a three-year term; CLASSIC and SATIN have four-year terms; and PREMIUM v2 has an eight-year term. The installed revision, eligible surface and written conditions determine coverage. A bundled installation does not give every treated surface the same term.
Does every FUSION PLUS product have the same inspection requirements?
No. Check the requirements for your installed product. The seven products listed with annual-inspection clauses have specific timing and recordkeeping requirements. LITE’s linked document has no separate annual-inspection section, but its care requirements still apply. Confirm your installation paperwork and arrangements with the original installer. See the inspection section for timing and records.
Does reduced water beading mean my coating has failed?
Changed water behavior needs assessment and does not by itself establish a manufacturing defect or require replacement. Contamination or maintenance needs can affect the surface. GLASS specifically lists loss of hydrophobicity, subject to its terms; that coverage should not be assumed for every other coating product.
Are stains covered by the warranty?
Some products list particular staining conditions, subject to the cause, exclusions and written terms. Routine residue, water spots, outside damage or improper care can lead to a different outcome. The installed product and an inspection help determine the appropriate next step; staining is not automatically covered or automatically excluded.
Does warranty replacement restart the coverage period?
No. Approved repaired or replaced coating remains within the original warranty period. Replacement does not restart or extend that period.
Can I ask for help without knowing the product or finding my receipt?
Yes. Begin with your vehicle and what you need help with, even if the product or installation date is unknown. Manufacturer review may still require installation and registration details, the original invoice showing treated areas, and inspection records. The initial inquiry does not approve a claim or confirm an appointment.
