Not Always the Right Driver.

Understand the extra protection

What Does a Vehicle Immobilizer Actually Do?

Your factory security recognizes a key. An added immobilizer can require your own PIN, paired phone, tag, or keyfob before the vehicle can be driven, where supported.

That separate check matters if someone has your key or the vehicle accepts another key signal. Passing the factory check does not automatically satisfy the added immobilizer.

The goal is to make unauthorized driving more difficult while keeping a routine you can live with. The added system works alongside factory security; your key still has its original role. Other equipment can address risks beyond someone driving away.

Starting is not always the same as driving. Some vehicles can start but still require your PIN or device before driving. We explain your vehicle’s expected behavior before installation.

Start with your concern

When the Factory Key Is Not Enough

Concerned that someone could drive away even if your vehicle recognizes a key? Start here. These are different situations in which a separate driver check may help. We assess the protection available for your exact vehicle and system.

A stolen key

A thief may get inside with your real key but still need the separate PIN or device to drive. Belongings remain at risk.

A relayed signal

The vehicle may believe its key is nearby. An immobilizer can add another check; we confirm what is available for your vehicle.

A cloned or newly recognized key

A key accepted by the vehicle does not automatically satisfy the immobilizer. Protection depends on the vehicle and installed system.

Electronic attacks

The added check creates another obstacle to unauthorized driving. Results vary by attack; no system covers every electronic or physical threat.

Keep using sensible key storage, secure accounts, thoughtful parking, and safe habits alongside any equipment you add.

Living with it

A Small Step in Your Driving Routine

You do not need to understand the installation to choose a comfortable daily routine. Think about everyone who drives the vehicle and whether they would prefer factory buttons, a phone, or a separate device.

  1. Get in as usual

Use your normal entry method. We explain any changes for your chosen setup.

  2. Use your PIN or device

Enter a PIN through supported factory buttons, or use the paired phone, tag, or keyfob chosen for your system.

  3. Know your vehicle’s routine

At pickup, we privately show you normal operation. Every approved driver should understand it.

Choose what you will use consistently. IGLA pairs with one phone; SPYNEX supports multiple. Keep your PIN available as an independent method. Supported combinations and alternatives depend on your system.

Plan for service and other drivers. We explain valet, dealer visits, inspections, and transport privately. Review access when drivers change.

If a device is lost or unavailable. Keep occupants and the vehicle safe, then contact us. We discuss a backup plan and verify ownership before private assistance.

Tell us about vehicle concerns. Battery problems, long storage periods, existing faults, or anything unusual may need attention.

Choose your protection

Three Options. A Clear Starting Price.

Start with how you want to use the system, then consider any additional features. We will check your vehicle and help you choose the package that suits your daily routine and security concerns.

Our flagship recommendation

IGLA

A separate check beyond your factory key, with supported PIN, phone, and keyfob options. Our first recommendation when it fits your vehicle and the features you want.

$1250installedor as low as $74/mo

Additional IGLA features

IGLA with Walkaway Protection

Adds Anti-Carjacking and Walkaway Protection on compatible vehicles. It can respond if someone takes the running vehicle after you step out, subject to vehicle-specific safety conditions.

$1850installedor as low as $84/mo

An app-focused choice

SPYNEX

Phone authorization, easier PIN changes, service-mode switching, and multiple paired phones. Phone start authorization clears automatically after startup. SPYNEX has its own PIN and tag options; IGLA features do not automatically apply.

$1450installedor as low as $86/mo

Prices cover standard installations on compatible vehicles. Your written quote confirms the system, included features, and any extra work.

Ask about Synchrony Car Care financing. Monthly examples are estimates, subject to credit approval and current lender terms. Your quote confirms eligible services and total cost. Ask for the payment schedule, rates, and applicable fees before choosing financing.

For moments outside a running vehicle

What Is Walkaway Protection?

With compatible enhanced IGLA protection, if someone takes the running vehicle after you step out, the system can immobilize it after driving away when vehicle-specific safety conditions are met.

This is an additional feature to discuss if your concern extends beyond the initial check before driving. Standard immobilizer protection and enhanced IGLA behavior are different choices, so ask us what the selected package includes for your vehicle.

Think of a quick trip back into the house, grabbing something from the trunk, stepping out at a gas station, or helping a toddler in the back seat. See everyday Walkaway Protection examples.

The response and distance vary by vehicle. We explain availability, safe operation, and your responsibilities privately. Do not assume the same behavior applies to SPYNEX.

During a confrontation, your personal safety comes first. An immobilizer is not a substitute for emergency assistance.

Keep the features you enjoy

What About Remote Start?

On a compatible setup, remote start may warm or cool the cabin while the immobilizer still requires your PIN, phone, or tag before driving.

Tell us about factory or aftermarket remote start, your manufacturer app, and any Compustar system. We check them together, explain what can stay, and identify anything that will work differently.

A new remote starter or extra integration work is quoted separately. Explore Remote Start Systems.

If your concern is someone breaking a window, knowing where a moved vehicle went, or having video of an incident, tell us. Those needs call for different equipment alongside the immobilizer.

Alarms, tracking, and cameras are separate unless your quote includes them. Connected features may require activation or a subscription.

What an immobilizer does not do

It cannot physically stop a break-in, vandalism, towing, or flatbed transport. It does not automatically include a siren, camera, GPS tracker, or police response. No system or combination guarantees theft prevention or recovery.

Protection depends on your vehicle, system, and circumstances. Ask the relevant provider about factory-warranty treatment, insurance terms, and any possible discounts.

Local guidance, before you book

Let’s Match the System to Your Vehicle

Our Raynham shop serves Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Tell us your year, make, model, trim, powertrain, transmission, start method, and existing electronics.

We also ask who drives, where you park, your preferred routine, and which factory features you want to keep. We explain suitability, price, and extra work before scheduling. Existing faults or unknown previous work may need investigation first.

Leave the installation choices to us

Digital systems work with compatible vehicle electronics; analog uses a separate immobilizing method; hybrid combines approaches. We check what suits your vehicle and explain how you will use it.

Private owner instructions stay private. Never send PINs, passwords, recovery codes, or owner-card details through a public form.

Questions Before You Choose

Can an immobilizer stop someone who has my real key?

It can still require your separate PIN or device before the vehicle can be driven. The key may allow entry, so belongings and break-in risks need their own consideration. Results depend on the vehicle and system.

Does an immobilizer help with relay-theft concerns?

It can add another check even when the vehicle recognizes a key signal. We confirm what is available for your vehicle, and sensible key storage still matters.

Can it stop a newly programmed or cloned key?

A key recognized by the vehicle does not automatically satisfy the added immobilizer. The protection depends on your vehicle and the system installed.

Will the vehicle still start?

It depends on the vehicle and setup. Some vehicles can start but still require your PIN or device before driving. We explain the expected behavior before installation.

Is an immobilizer also an alarm or GPS tracker?

No. Alarms, tracking, and cameras perform different jobs and are separate unless your written quote includes them.

Can an immobilizer stop towing?

No. It cannot physically stop a vehicle from being lifted, rolled, winched, or transported.

Does it work with remote start?

It may. We check your remote starter, vehicle app, and other electronics together so you know how they will work with the immobilizer.

Does it guarantee my vehicle will not be stolen?

No. It can make unauthorized driving more difficult, but cannot prevent every theft method.

Your vehicle. Your routine.
