Clear Coverage for Your IGLA System
Your IGLA system includes separate coverage for the equipment itself and for the quality of the installation performed by Kickin’ Customs.
Author Alarm provides the manufacturer equipment warranty. Kickin’ Customs provides lifetime workmanship coverage on the original IGLA installation, along with a separate one-time post-warranty labor benefit if eligible IGLA equipment fails after the Author Alarm warranty period ends.
This page explains those protections in plain English. It is not theft insurance and does not cover vehicle theft, collision damage, or unrelated vehicle issues.

All Kickin’ Customs warranty benefits are tied to the original IGLA installation date and original IGLA system.
The Author Alarm equipment warranty and Kickin’ Customs workmanship coverage are separate. A lifetime installation warranty does not mean IGLA equipment is covered forever.
Author Alarm Equipment Warranty
Author Alarm IGLA equipment carries a 24-month manufacturer equipment warranty.
This 24-month period is measured from the product’s date of manufacture, not from the date your IGLA system was installed.
During the active Author Alarm equipment warranty period, if an originally installed IGLA component fails, Kickin’ Customs will replace the affected equipment at no charge. We will also cover the labor required to remove the failed component, program the replacement, and reinstall the system at no charge.
This applies to qualifying equipment failure within the active Author Alarm manufacturer warranty period.
Kickin’ Customs Lifetime Installation Warranty
Kickin’ Customs provides a lifetime workmanship warranty on the original IGLA installation.
This covers installation-related concerns caused by our:
• Wiring
• Connections
• Mounting
• Programming
• Installation process
This protection is separate from the Author Alarm equipment warranty. It applies when an issue is related to how the original IGLA system was installed, not when an IGLA component itself has failed outside the manufacturer equipment warranty period.
Kickin’ Customs Equipment Replacement Labor Coverage
After the 24-month Author Alarm manufacturer equipment warranty period ends, Kickin’ Customs will still cover labor at no charge for one replacement event involving failed IGLA equipment.
For that one post-warranty replacement event:
• The customer is responsible for the cost of replacement equipment.
• Kickin’ Customs covers the labor required to remove the failed equipment, program the replacement, and reinstall the system.
• The benefit applies once per original IGLA system.
A replacement completed during the active Author Alarm warranty period does not use or reduce your one post-warranty free-labor replacement event.
A post-warranty replacement does not restart or extend any warranty period. It also does not create an additional free-labor replacement benefit.
Original Installation and Vehicle Transfer Policy
All Kickin’ Customs warranty benefits are tied to the original IGLA installation date and the original IGLA system.
If the IGLA system is removed and installed in another vehicle, the original coverage dates remain in effect. Moving the system does not restart, extend, or create a new Author Alarm equipment warranty period, lifetime installation warranty, or post-warranty free-labor replacement benefit.
If Kickin’ Customs performs the transfer, the original coverage remains tied to the first installation date.
Work performed by another shop or individual is not covered by Kickin’ Customs. This includes removal, modification, repair, or reinstallation of the IGLA system.

IGLA FAQs
How long is the Author Alarm IGLA equipment warranty?
Author Alarm IGLA equipment carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty measured from the product’s date of manufacture, not the installation date.
What happens if IGLA equipment fails after the 24-month manufacturer warranty ends?
You are responsible for the replacement equipment cost. Kickin’ Customs will cover labor at no charge for one post-warranty replacement event per original IGLA system.
Is labor covered if my IGLA hardware fails?
Yes. During the active Author Alarm equipment warranty period, Kickin’ Customs covers the replacement equipment and all related removal, programming, and reinstallation labor at no charge. After that period, we cover labor for one post-warranty replacement event, while the customer is responsible for the replacement equipment cost.
Does moving my IGLA system to another vehicle restart coverage?
No. All coverage remains tied to the original installation date and original IGLA system. A transfer does not restart, extend, or create new coverage.
Does this warranty cover theft or vehicle damage?
No. IGLA is a vehicle security system, not theft insurance. This warranty does not cover vehicle theft, collision damage, water intrusion, towing, rental vehicles, insurance deductibles, loss of use, or damage to other vehicle systems.
