Inspect or Service
A minor edge concern, fine surface mark or light contamination may be serviceable when the film, adhesive and surrounding surface remain suitable.

A damaged section can often be serviced or replaced while keeping the rest of your protection in place. We’ll inspect the affected area, explain your options, and recommend the right next step.
You do not need to diagnose the problem before contacting us. Select anything that looks familiar, or choose Not sure.
If an edge lifts or flaps, or dirt enters an open edge and reaches exposed adhesive, contact us immediately. This includes lifting during your first wash. Do not pick, trim, peel, or pressure wash the affected edge.
Remove bird droppings, bugs, and sap from the film’s surface promptly and gently. Contact us if residue will not come off with gentle cleaning. For moisture pockets and other changes during initial settling, see our after-installation guidance.
A minor edge concern, fine surface mark or light contamination may be serviceable when the film, adhesive and surrounding surface remain suitable.
A cut, tear, puncture, damaged adhesive, deep gouge or heavily contaminated lift often makes replacement of that piece more appropriate than trying to patch it.
Aged film, unavailable material, a major appearance difference or several affected pieces may justify replacing a broader area.
We would rather inspect the film and tell you it can stay than replace material unnecessarily.
A sharp stone or larger piece of debris can cut, puncture or heavily mark the film.
Parking damage, garage contact or another scrape can damage one protected area without requiring the entire vehicle to be rewrapped.
Contamination, impact, pressure washing, age, adhesion or an installation concern can cause an edge to lift. Whether it can be serviced depends on its condition.
Severe contamination, chemical exposure, etching, aging or accumulated wear can make fresh film preferable when cleaning will not restore the existing piece.
Body repair, paintless dent repair, panel work, trim replacement or other service can require film removal and replacement.
Excessive contamination, poorly finished edges, stretch marks, lifting, or other installation concerns may be better addressed by replacing the affected piece. We inspect the installation before recommending a correction.
Yes. Paint Protection Film is installed in individual pieces and panel sections, so a damaged bumper, hood, fender, rocker, door, quarter panel, mirror or other protected area can often be removed and replaced without disturbing the rest of the installation.
The bigger question is whether the new piece will look and behave appropriately next to the film that remains on the vehicle.
A single damaged area usually does not mean replacing an entire PPF package. We inspect the surrounding film first and recommend the smallest replacement that still produces a result we are comfortable delivering.

We compare the existing film’s finish, age, condition, and available replacement options. If a difference in appearance is likely, we’ll explain it before you decide how much coverage to replace.
| Existing Film | Replacement Consideration | What We Review |
|---|---|---|
| Clear Gloss PPF | Usually the simplest type to replace panel by panel | Clarity, surface wear, coating, age and edge layout |
| Matte / Satin PPF | A new piece can have a different sheen from aged film or exposed factory matte paint | Film-to-film and film-to-paint appearance |
| Hydrophobic PPF | Fresh film may bead and shed water differently from older adjacent film | Product type, age, maintenance and surface condition |
| 10 mil PPF | Thickness should be considered when preserving a high-impact build | Original film thickness and intended impact zone |
| Color PPF | Exact color, material availability, batch, age and exposure can affect matching | Available material and whether a larger section should be replaced |
| Unknown / Other Brand | A perfect match cannot be assumed | Brand identification, age, finish, condition and replacement options |
You do not need to have purchased the original PPF from Kickin’ Customs for us to inspect it, remove damaged film or quote replacement coverage.
If the original brand and product can be identified, we evaluate whether matching it makes sense. If the film is unknown, discontinued, aged or visibly different from the products currently available, we explain the likely match and whether a broader replacement area should be considered.
We can provide paid inspection, removal and replacement service, but we do not take over another installer’s workmanship warranty.
Factory paint in good condition is generally the safest surface for professional PPF removal. Repainted, repaired, blended, touched-up, failing or poorly bonded paint can carry additional removal risk.
We inspect the vehicle and ask about known paint history before removal whenever possible. Previous paintwork is not always visible or documented, and in some cases a paint condition only becomes apparent once removal begins.
Once the old film is removed, we inspect and prepare the exposed surface before new film is installed.
Tell us your vehicle, affected area, what happened, original installer if known and film type if known. Photos are helpful when available.
We assess damage depth, edge condition, contamination, age, product match and known paint or repair history.
When replacement is needed, the affected film is professionally removed. We then inspect and prepare the exposed surface before installing new film.
We install suitable replacement film, finish the edges, and check its appearance against the surrounding film. We explain any age or appearance difference and review aftercare.
For replacement film installed by Kickin’ Customs, the complimentary three-week inspection applies under the current workmanship policy and is required for workmanship coverage.
You do not need to decide which category applies before contacting us.
Qualifying original exterior PPF purchases of $495 or more include a one-time benefit of up to $250 toward eligible replacement for the original customer and vehicle. Insurance claims are excluded. The benefit is separate from manufacturer warranty and workmanship coverage.
Contact Kickin’ Customs before the existing film or damaged body part is removed whenever possible.
The qualifying exterior PPF subtotal must be at least $495 on one paid invoice, after discounts and before tax. The benefit is tied to the original invoiced customer and vehicle VIN. Earlier installations qualify only when the benefit is documented in the original quote, invoice, work order or customer record.
Eligible exterior films include gloss, satin, matte, hydrophobic, color and exterior lighting protection film. Interior film, windshield protection film, tint, vinyl and coatings do not qualify. Only areas protected in the original qualifying installation are eligible.
Contact Kickin’ Customs for inspection and approval before the film or damaged body part is removed. Emergency or body-shop removal needs photographs, repair documentation and management approval; approval after removal is not guaranteed. Manufacturer and workmanship coverage are reviewed first.
One approved service credit can cover eligible removal, ordinary preparation, replacement film and installation labor at current rates. You pay any balance above $250. If eligible work costs less, the unused balance is forfeited. The benefit has no cash value and cannot be split, refunded, exchanged or transferred.
The benefit lasts through the original film’s stated manufacturer warranty period and ends when the original customer sells or transfers the vehicle. Replacement does not restart it. Later PPF additions do not create another benefit unless granted in writing. Work must be performed and invoiced by Kickin’ Customs or under its brand.
Paint and body repairs, parts, trim, sensors, calibration, transportation, taxes and other non-PPF costs are excluded. Specialty film is subject to availability; matching is not guaranteed. Additional panels replaced solely for appearance are the customer’s responsibility.
Missing the three-week inspection does not cancel this benefit, although it may affect workmanship coverage. Insurance claims remain excluded from the benefit. Paid or insurance-related replacement can be assessed separately.
Contact us before the affected film or damaged parts are removed when possible. We can document the existing protected area and provide a replacement estimate for the affected panels.
Repainted panels must be ready for film according to the repair facility and applicable paint-system guidance. There is no single universal wait period after refinishing.
Insurance claims are excluded from the No-Fault benefit. Kickin’ Customs ordinarily bills the customer directly rather than billing or negotiating the claim with an insurer or body shop. Reimbursement and deductible arrangements remain between the customer and insurer.
Financing is available only for qualifying services, subject to approval and current terms. Ask us about eligibility for your actual repair.

Yes. A minor edge concern, fine surface mark or light contamination may be serviceable when the film, adhesive and surface remain suitable. We inspect before recommending replacement.
Often, yes. Film is installed in individual pieces, so an affected area can often be replaced without disturbing the rest. We assess the surrounding film and available material first.
A perfect match cannot be assumed. Product, age, sheen, color, surface wear, coatings and exposure can affect the result. We explain the likely match and any reason to consider a broader area.
Yes. We can inspect film installed elsewhere and quote paid removal or replacement. We do not take over another installer’s workmanship warranty or approve a manufacturer claim ourselves.
You can still request an assessment. We inspect the film and discuss identification, condition and suitable replacement options. Brand or invoice details are not required for the initial inquiry.
Sometimes. A minor edge concern may be serviceable if the film, adhesive and surface remain suitable. A contaminated lift, damaged adhesive or torn film often needs replacement. Do not pick, trim or peel it yourself.
No. Fine topcoat marks may become less visible with warmth on suitable self-healing film. Deep cuts, gouges and punctures do not self-heal and should be assessed.
Removal is not completely risk-free. Repaired, repainted, touched-up, failing or poorly bonded paint can carry additional risk. We review known history and inspect before removal when possible.
Damage to the film does not automatically mean the paint underneath is damaged. We assess the affected area and explain what can be determined before removal. If the paint needs repair, that work may need to be completed before replacement film is installed. New PPF protects the repaired surface; it does not repair chipped or scraped paint.
Contact Kickin’ Customs before the affected film or damaged parts are removed when possible. We can document the protected area and provide a replacement estimate. Your insurer determines claim coverage and reimbursement.
Outside impact damage is generally different from a qualifying manufacturer defect. We inspect the issue and explain the appropriate support or paid replacement path under the applicable product terms.
No. Insurance claims are excluded. The one-time benefit provides up to $250 toward eligible replacement on qualifying original exterior PPF purchases of $495 or more for the original customer and vehicle. It is separate from manufacturer warranty and workmanship coverage. Missing the three-week inspection does not by itself cancel an otherwise eligible benefit.
The affected piece, film type, removal and adhesive work, surrounding film, paint history, access and matching requirements affect the estimate. We provide a vehicle-specific quote after reviewing the installation.
No. The repaired surface must first be released as ready for film under the applicable repair-facility and paint-system requirements. Timing varies.
Tell us what you drive and what happened to the film. You do not need to decide whether this is paid replacement, warranty, workmanship or No-Fault before contacting us.
