Window film reduces visible light passing through the glass. A lower VLT means a darker appearance, but the best shade also needs to fit how and when you drive.
Many trucks and SUVs have factory-darkened rear glass. Clear front doors can leave the vehicle looking unfinished.
Changing sunlight and reflections can be uncomfortable. Clear glass also offers little separation between the cabin and people outside.
Darker film reduces outward visibility too. Night driving, rain, reversing, and your existing glass all matter.
XPEL PRIME Color Stable is a color-stable dyed film for drivers who prioritize a coordinated appearance, daytime privacy, glare reduction, and UV filtering.
Privacy is generally stronger when the exterior is brighter than the cabin. How much of the interior remains visible depends on the tint’s VLT, lighting conditions, viewing angle, interior color, and light entering through the windshield or other windows. Even darker tint does not completely black out the cabin.

A darker, more coordinated look with UV filtering and glare reduction. Color Stable is a dyed film; XR Black and XR Plus use ceramic technology for stronger heat rejection.

Tinting compatible roof glass can reduce glare, add privacy, and create a darker, more finished appearance inside the cabin. Because roof glass construction varies by vehicle, we confirm compatibility before installation.

Your written quote identifies the vehicle, film, glass coverage, preparation, and final price.
Many SUVs and trucks come with darker rear glass from the factory. That gives the vehicle a darker appearance and added privacy, but the glass itself varies widely in color, VLT, UV filtering, and solar performance.

When tinting the front doors, we compare the existing rear glass against Color Stable, XR Black, and XR Plus directly on the vehicle.
If the priority is appearance and privacy, Color Stable may be the right fit. If reducing heat through the front doors matters too, XR Black or XR Plus may make more sense. In some vehicles, a ceramic film may also provide the better visual match.
We aim for a coordinated appearance, but factory glass varies, so an exact match in darkness, color, or reflection cannot be guaranteed.
The darker appearance is built into the glass itself. There is no aftermarket window film applied, and its privacy and solar performance vary by vehicle.
Window film is a separate layer selected for its shade and performance. It can be used to complement factory rear glass, improve privacy, and, depending on the film selected, provide significantly greater heat rejection.
Film VLT is not the same as the finished window VLT. The existing glass and the film work together, so we measure the vehicle before confirming the final shade.

This gallery includes privacy and ceramic tint projects. Photos illustrate the overall appearance, not exact shade or film performance. Lighting, viewing angle, and factory glass affect the look; nominal film VLT is not the finished window’s measured VLT.
Choose a shade for your actual driving routine, not just the darkest look in a photograph.
When the exterior is brighter than the cabin, darker glass generally makes it harder to see inside. That effect changes with viewing angle, distance, reflections, and the vehicle’s interior.
At night, interior lighting can make occupants easier to see from outside. Dark film also reduces the driver’s view out. It does not create one-way visibility in every lighting condition.

Light haze, moisture pockets, and small water bubbles can remain. Cold or humid weather can extend curing.

Yes. Privacy changes with daylight, cabin lighting, viewing angle, distance, and the glass. Tint does not make the interior invisible.
We compare Color Stable, XR Black, and XR Plus against your factory rear glass. The closest visual match depends on the glass color and reflection, so another film may match better than Color Stable. You can also choose ceramic on just the front doors for stronger heat rejection while driving. An exact match is not guaranteed.
No. Factory privacy glass is colored during manufacturing. Its UV and heat performance varies. Applied window film is a separate layer with its own performance specifications.
It offers some heat rejection, but ceramic film is the better choice when reducing heat is your main goal. We can show you Color Stable, XR Black, and XR Plus in the shop.
No. Film technology matters as well as shade. A lighter ceramic film can provide better heat rejection than a darker dyed film.
No. Automotive window tint is not security film and does not prevent glass from breaking or stop forced entry.
Qualifying packages include one replacement of film on one covered roll-down side window during three years. It applies to the original customer and vehicle, is separate from XPEL’s warranty, and is subject to the written terms. The glass itself is not covered.
We review the registration state, vehicle, glass position, existing glass, and applicable requirements before confirming a shade. The film label alone does not tell you the final light transmission through the glass.
