XPEL VISION is XPEL’s architectural window-film family for homes, offices and other building glass. Different products address solar control, privacy, decorative appearance, safety/security or replaceable surface protection.
Start with what you want the glass to do. A film suited to a bright room is not automatically the right choice for nighttime privacy, an entry-delay requirement or repeated surface damage.
| XPEL VISION | XPEL PRIME | |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Architectural glass in homes and buildings. | Automotive window tint. |
| Selection | Your windows, sunlight, desired appearance and whether the film goes inside or outside. | Vehicle glass and automotive requirements. |
| Care & coverage | The architectural product instructions, project handoff and applicable written warranty. | Automotive care and warranty terms do not define a VISION installation. |
Paint protection film, windshield protection, wraps and ceramic coatings are separate products too.

A starting direction for a conversation, not a final product or glass approval.
More glare control may mean less visible light. A darker appearance alone does not identify total heat performance. Room use, sunlight and shades also affect comfort.
Reflective privacy depends on lighting and may reverse after dark. Frost obscures the view but can reveal silhouettes or movement. Opaque film blocks the view and changes daylight.
Reflectivity, visible bands, seams and the facade appearance need approval. Holding broken glass together, making entry harder and protecting a surface from damage are different jobs.
Film installed inside faces different conditions from film installed outside. We confirm that the product is approved for your glass and its location, rather than choosing by appearance alone.
There is no universal best film, fixed temperature drop or promised utility saving. Film cannot stop all fading. Decorative work needs authorized artwork, the reading side and a written proof; a screen mockup cannot guarantee physical color, opacity or an invisible seam.

We check what type of windows you have, their coatings and condition, and how much sun they receive. These details help us choose a suitable film and plan safe access.
The right answer may be another film, more review, another system or no installation.
Learn about the project reviewFilm can show reflections, edges, seams or temporary drying moisture, and may look different from untreated glass. Windows with energy-saving coatings need a compatibility check. Glass can still break after safety/security film is installed.
Our consultations focus on professionally assessed and installed projects. Ask before assuming film-only sales, shipping, DIY suitability or warranty eligibility.
Wait for installer-approved curing before cleaning, then use the exact care handoff. Coverage follows the product, property, installation, records, cause and current written terms.

Browse the answers| Metric | What it helps describe | What to avoid assuming |
|---|---|---|
| VLT | How much visible light passes through the stated film/glass combination. | A darker film automatically rejects more total heat or gives nighttime privacy. |
| TSER | Total solar energy rejected on the specified test basis. | It is the same as an infrared-rejection figure. |
| SHGC | The fraction of incident solar heat that enters through the tested glazing system. | A value measured on one glass assembly applies unchanged to another. |
| Visible reflectance | Reflected visible light on the stated side. | Permanent one-way privacy or identical appearance from both sides. |
| UV rejection / transmission | Behavior in the reported ultraviolet range and test method. | Complete fade prevention. Visible light, heat, humidity and materials also matter. |
| IR rejection | Performance over the reported infrared range. | It measures all solar energy or is directly comparable across different wavelength ranges. |
| U-factor | Heat transfer through the stated glazing assembly. | It is the same measurement as solar heat rejection. |
Compare exact products using the same glass basis, installation side, units and test method. Keep the official source, revision and verification date with the specification. The highest advertised figure is not a guaranteed result for your home or building. Results depend on the film you choose and your windows.
Also check installation side and thickness. Thickness is one part of a product or system, not a universal quality or security ranking.
| Responsibility | What it establishes | Keep with the record |
|---|---|---|
| XPEL technical documents | Current product specifications, film-to-glass guidance, applicable written coverage and documented approvals. | Exact name, category, region, installation side, specification revision, approval and source date. |
| Kickin’ Customs project review | The agreed installation work, observed site conditions, preparation, access, exclusions, written proposal and handoff. | Pane schedule, samples or proof, invoice, installation record, care and actual written installation terms. |
| Owner / authorized project team | Authority, property requirements, design approval, safe access and any necessary building, glazing, engineering or security decisions. | Written requirements, landlord approval where needed, project contacts and related-trade information. |
A marketing listing does not confirm local stock, lead time, glass compatibility or warranty eligibility. Product names and offerings can change by region or date. We verify the exact current product for the written proposal instead of treating this page as a live inventory catalog.
Official product documents are checked against the proposed installation. XPEL product specifications
Clear, tinted, reflective, spectrally selective, frosted, opaque and thicker safety/security constructions are not interchangeable. A product’s appearance does not identify its complete performance. A scratch-resistant surface is not scratch-proof, and “ceramic” or “metalized” alone is not a complete selection method.
No. VISION is XPEL’s architectural film family for homes and buildings. Different products help with solar heat, privacy, decoration, holding broken glass together, entry-delay goals or surface protection.
No. VISION is for suitable building glass; PRIME is the automotive window-film family. Their products, installation, care and warranty requirements are different.
There is no single best choice. Start with the change you want, then compare daylight, glare, privacy, outward view and appearance. We check your windows and the approved inside or outside use before choosing a film.
Selected solar films can reduce heat coming through the glass and may improve comfort. Sunlight, window type, shade, room use and heating or cooling also affect the result. A specific temperature change or energy saving is not guaranteed.
Selected products filter UV according to their tested specifications. We check the exact film’s data. UV is only one cause of fading; light, heat, moisture, materials and age also matter.
Reflective privacy can work when outside is brighter than inside, but it can weaken or reverse as lighting changes. For privacy at all hours, consider frost, shades or another appropriate option.
No. We check the type and condition of the glass, coatings, frame, sun and shade, existing film and proposed product. Some windows need another film, further review or no installation.
Selected products may be suitable outside. We confirm the exact film, glass, weather exposure, edges, safe access and care requirements before approving exterior work.
There is no one service life for every product. Exposure, weather, placement, glass, installation, edges, cleaning and damage all matter. The exact product’s written warranty is separate from a promised lifespan.
The film, amount of glass, preparation and safe access shape the quote. Design, removal, frame attachment or specialist work may add cost. See Pricing & Consultation for the project-review process.
A few everyday details are enough to begin. You do not need to identify the exact film or type of glass.
