A second authorization step before the vehicle can be driven.
Even with a usable vehicle key, SPYNEX can require separate authorization before allowing drive-away. An approved setup may use a PIN, registered Bluetooth Tag or supported SPYNEX Control app functions.

Why We Usually Recommend the SPYNEX Control App
When the installed SPYNEX configuration supports the Control app, Kickin’ Customs generally recommends setting it up for everyday ownership. It makes common owner tasks easier without replacing SPYNEX or your backup authorization method.

Where supported, use the approved phone-based authorization method instead of relying only on the manual PIN routine.
Exact behavior depends on the installed SPYNEX product, vehicle and configuration.
Easier PIN + Service-Mode Management
Supported PIN changes and service-mode functions can be easier to manage through the app than through vehicle-button procedures.
Especially useful before:
- Dealer visits or repair work
- Tire service or detailing
- Valet use or another authorized driver
Protection Can Rearm Automatically
Where the approved SPYNEX configuration supports automatic rearming, the prior authorization is cleared after normal use and the vehicle again requires its approved authorization method.
This reduces the chance of accidentally leaving the vehicle authorized. Behavior remains vehicle-specific.
Our Recommendation
For most customers with a compatible SPYNEX configuration, we recommend setting up the Control app for everyday use while keeping the PIN or another approved backup method available.
A security system works best when the owner is comfortable using it every day.
The SPYNEX App Is Not GPS Tracking.
App functions, including supported status and Tag information, vary by installed SPYNEX product, vehicle, firmware and current app version. Keep your PIN or another approved backup method available. Automatic rearming belongs to the installed SPYNEX configuration, not the phone app by itself.
A last-known or arming location is not live GPS tracking, movement monitoring, geofencing or recovery tracking.

What SPYNEX does not do.
No immobilizer makes a vehicle theft-proof. SPYNEX cannot prevent every towing/physical-loading theft, forced entry, vandalism, component theft or attempted-theft damage.
It does not replace an alarm, GPS or insurance. Insurance discounts, claims, factory-warranty decisions and unchanged vehicle behavior are not promised.

Product and Kickin’ Customs installation coverage are separate. Written terms identify the period, eligibility, remedy, exclusions and claim process. IGLA terms do not automatically apply.

What is the difference between SPYNEX Pin and Tag?
Pin centers daily use on supported factory controls. Tag centers it on a registered Bluetooth Tag, with PIN retained in the approved setup.

Will SPYNEX work with my vehicle and Remote Start?

What if I lose a Tag or change phones?

Does SPYNEX make my vehicle theft-proof?
