The short answer
Window tint is designed to stay on the vehicle for years, but real life happens.
A side window can get scratched. A seat belt buckle can hit the glass. A pet can damage the film. A customer can accidentally cause damage while cleaning or loading the vehicle.
Those situations are different from a manufacturer defect.
That is why qualifying Kickin’ Customs window tint installations include a separate Window Film Replacement Benefit.
Benefit and eligibility
What Is the Replacement Benefit?
For qualifying installations, the benefit provides one replacement of the film on one covered roll-down side window during the eligible term.
The current benefit runs for three years from the original qualifying installation.
It is designed specifically to help with accidental or customer-caused film damage that would not normally fall under a manufacturer defect warranty.
What Kind of Damage Can This Help With?
Examples may include situations such as:
- Scratching the tint while loading something into the vehicle
- Damage from a seat belt buckle
- Accidental damage during cleaning
- Pet-related scratches
- Other customer-caused damage to the covered film
The exact eligibility still depends on the written terms, but the basic idea is simple.
If the film is damaged and the issue is not a manufacturer defect, the replacement benefit may still help.
How Is This Different From the XPEL Warranty?
The XPEL manufacturer warranty covers qualifying defects in the film itself.
That can include certain issues such as peeling, bubbling, fading, discoloration, or delamination.
The replacement benefit is different.
It is meant for accidental or customer-caused damage.
So if the film fails because of a covered product defect, that is a warranty conversation.
If the film gets damaged because something scratched or struck it, that may be a replacement-benefit conversation instead.
Coverage and exclusions
What Does the Benefit Cover?
For qualifying customers, the benefit includes:
- One film replacement
- One covered roll-down side window
- A three-year term from the original installation
- Support for qualifying accidental or customer-caused damage
- Replacement performed through Kickin’ Customs
The original customer and original vehicle requirements apply.
Written eligibility, exclusions, scheduling, and proof requirements also apply.
What Is Not Automatically Included?
Not every piece of automotive glass is automatically covered.
Standalone windshield tint, windshield strips, sunroofs, panoramic roofs, and other specialty glass are not automatically included under the standard benefit.
The benefit is built around qualifying side-window installations.
That is why we recommend confirming eligibility at the time of your quote.
Does the Benefit Cover the Glass?
No.
The benefit covers the window film, not the actual glass.
If the glass is cracked, chipped, broken, or otherwise damaged, the glass repair or replacement itself is separate.
Once the glass is replaced, we can review the situation and determine whether the replacement film qualifies under the applicable benefit.
Why Offer This at All?
Window tint is something people interact with every day.
Windows go up and down.
People load bags, tools, kids’ equipment, pets, and everyday items into the vehicle.
That creates opportunities for accidental damage even when the film was installed correctly and is performing normally.
We wanted to provide some extra support for those real-world situations.

Request replacement support
What Happens if the Damage Is a Manufacturer Defect?
Then the replacement benefit should not be the first place we look.
If the issue appears to be a qualifying manufacturer defect, we would review it under the applicable XPEL warranty.
The two types of coverage serve different purposes.
That is important because we do not want customers using a one-time accidental-damage benefit for something that may already qualify as a warranty issue.
How Do You Use the Benefit?
If you damage a covered side-window film, contact Kickin’ Customs before having another shop remove or replace it.
We will review the installation and the damage, confirm whether the benefit applies, and explain the next step.
Keeping the original installation information makes that process easier.
Why This Matters When Comparing Tint Quotes
Most customers compare window tint by:
- Price
- Film brand
- Shade
- Heat rejection
Those things matter.
But after-sale support matters too.
If two shops install similar film at similar prices, it is worth asking what happens if the film is accidentally damaged six months or two years later.
That is where benefits like this can make a real difference.
Final Thoughts
The Kickin’ Customs Window Film Replacement Benefit is not a manufacturer warranty and it is not glass coverage.
It is a separate benefit designed to help with qualifying accidental or customer-caused damage to a covered side-window film.
For qualifying installations, it provides one covered replacement during the three-year term.
It is a simple extra layer of support for the kind of damage that can happen during normal vehicle ownership.
