Start with your goal

Comfort for the Commute. A Look That Fits.

From I-93 and the Mass Pike to neighborhood streets, Boston driving means stop-and-go traffic, changing glare, and parking in mixed light. Choose tint for the time you spend behind the wheel, including the drive home after dark.

Cabin comfort

Ceramic film helps reduce incoming infrared energy while you sit in traffic or drive in direct sun. Compare heat performance separately from shade.

Daytime privacy

For curbside parking and busy streets, tint can make the cabin harder to see into when it is brighter outside. Privacy still depends on the lighting.

Glare control

Low sun and bright reflections can make a city drive uncomfortable. Film reduces portions of visible glare; shade choice also needs to preserve your view at night.

UV filtering

All three XPEL PRIME films provide 99% UV rejection in XPEL’s comparison, adding UV filtering for daily commutes and time on the road.

A finished look

Aim for a coordinated look that suits your car, SUV, or truck. We compare the front windows with any factory rear privacy glass on the actual vehicle.

Coverage That Fits Your Vehicle

Start with the front two windows, tint the standard sides-and-rear package, or build a more complete installation with windshield and roof-glass options.

01

Front Pair

The driver and front passenger windows. A popular choice for trucks and SUVs with factory privacy glass in the rear, or for drivers who simply want to upgrade the front doors.

02

Full Vehicle Surround

The industry-standard window tint package covering the side and rear windows of the vehicle. Windshield and roof glass are separate unless specifically added.

03

Full Vehicle + Windshield

Full side-and-rear window coverage plus a compatible full windshield. A more complete approach for glare reduction, UV protection, heat control, and a consistent cabin environment.

04

Full Windshield

Film applied across compatible windshield glass to help reduce glare, UV exposure, and solar heat. Vehicle compatibility, sensors, cameras, and applicable requirements are reviewed before installation.

05

Windshield Strip

A tinted band across the upper windshield designed to reduce overhead sunlight and glare without covering the entire windshield. Height and placement depend on the vehicle and applicable requirements.

06

Sunroof / Panoramic Roof

Film for compatible sunroof or panoramic roof glass to help reduce glare and solar heat through the roof. Glass construction and vehicle compatibility are reviewed before installation.

Appearance is only part of the decision

How Dark Should You Go?

VLT means visible light transmission. Higher percentages let more visible light through; lower percentages look darker.

Your factory glass and film work together, so the film label is not the final meter reading. Vehicle, interior, lighting, and viewing angle change the look. Darker tint also reduces outward visibility at night.

Massachusetts tint planning

Plan Your Tint Around Massachusetts Requirements

Massachusetts requirements depend on the vehicle, the glass position, and the measured glass-and-film combination. The film label alone does not establish the final reading.

Tell us where the vehicle is registered. We review the requested coverage, vehicle classification, existing glass, and any approved exemption before confirming a recommendation. Windshield rules need separate attention.

Factory glass + film

Already Have Dark Rear Glass?

Many trucks and SUVs have darker rear glass from the factory. Its appearance is built into the glass; it is different from an applied film.

We compare Color Stable, XR Black, and XR Plus against the vehicle. Front-door ceramic film can add heat performance while driving, and on some vehicles may offer the closer visual blend.

Want more heat rejection without a much darker look? A light 70% ceramic film over factory rear privacy glass can add heat rejection while minimally changing its appearance.

An exact match in darkness, color, or reflection is not guaranteed. Existing glass also changes the final combined VLT.

Boston Window Tint Questions

Practical answers for choosing your film and planning installation in Raynham.

Where is Window Tint for Boston customers installed?

All automotive Window Tint installation is completed at Kickin’ Customs, 244 North Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767. Boston customers bring their vehicles to our Raynham facility. We do not have a Boston installation location.

What does Window Tint cost for Boston drivers?

Front two windows start at $175 with Color Stable, $225 with XR Black, or $300 with XR Plus. All side and rear windows start at $400, $525, or $750 respectively. Final pricing depends on your vehicle, coverage, and any film or adhesive removal. Compare Privacy Tint Packages and Ceramic Tint Packages.

Should I choose Privacy Tint or Ceramic Tint for my commute?

If appearance, daytime privacy, and value come first, start with Color Stable. If incoming heat during your drive is a higher priority, compare XR Black and XR Plus. You can feel ceramic performance on our heat display in Raynham; a darker shade is not required for stronger heat rejection.

Can the front windows complement factory rear privacy glass?

We compare film samples against your existing glass for a coordinated appearance. Exact color, darkness, or reflection matching cannot be guaranteed. Factory glass also affects the combined meter reading. Learn more on our Privacy Tint page.

What shade should I choose for city and nighttime driving?

Consider changing light, mirrors, reversing, and visibility around pedestrians and cyclists. Compare your preferred shade with the next lighter option beside the actual vehicle. Use the Tint Shade Guide as a starting point, then review real samples with us.

How does Massachusetts law affect my tint choice?

The actual glass-and-film reading, vehicle classification, glass position, registration state, and any approved exemption matter. A nominal film shade does not establish eligibility. Review our Massachusetts and Rhode Island Window Tint Laws page before finalizing coverage.

Can you tint my windshield or panoramic roof?

We review glass construction, sensors, cameras, compatibility, and applicable requirements before recommending coverage. Windshield rules require particular attention. Tell us the exact vehicle and requested glass in your quote request.

Why make the trip from Boston for Window Tint?

At our Raynham shop, you can compare real film samples against your vehicle, try the heat display, and review factory glass and nighttime visibility with our team. We confirm the installation plan, pricing, and expected timing before your appointment, then provide care and written warranty or qualifying benefit guidance at pickup.

How should I plan my appointment from Boston?

Send your vehicle information and coverage goals before making the trip. We confirm expected appointment length based on the work and any existing-film removal. Our Raynham shop is open Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM. A customer lounge is available during many tint appointments.

What should I expect after installation?

Keep movable windows closed for 3–5 days in normal conditions, or 5–7 days during below-freezing temperatures or colder winter conditions. Wait 7 days before cleaning the film-facing inside glass. Do not use the rear defroster until the tint has cured. Temporary moisture or haze may remain for approximately 1–2 weeks, with weather affecting drying. Read the care and maintenance guide.

What warranty and ownership support apply?

Qualifying XPEL PRIME film carries a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty under XPEL’s written terms. Qualifying packages also include a separate Window Film Replacement Benefit: one covered roll-down side-window film replacement during a three-year term for the original customer and vehicle, subject to written terms.
