Starting prices assume clean, serviceable glass with no previous protection film to remove. Size, curvature, access, specialty features, contamination, and prior film can change the quote.

Glass condition comes first. Film will not repair or hide chips, cracks, heavy pitting, or scratches. We inspect the windshield before accepting the installation.

Built for exterior exposure

When protection makes sense.

WPF can be useful if you spend a lot of time on the highway, have an exposed windshield, or want to reduce the chance of replacing specialty glass.

EVERYDAY MILES

Highways & workdays.

Frequent highway travel and commercial mileage create repeated exposure to loose debris, winter-treated roads, and exterior wear.

WINDSHIELD DESIGN

Upright & exposed.

Short and upright glass can receive debris more directly. We review the design and your driving use when confirming the fit.

SPECIALTY GLASS

Specialty and original glass.

Cameras, sensors, heating elements, heads-up displays, and difficult-to-source glass can make replacement a larger project.

How it works

The film takes the first contact.

A replaceable layer over the glass.

The clear polyurethane film sits outside the glass, where it takes the first contact from road debris. It is designed to absorb part of the impact and can be professionally replaced when worn or damaged.

It helps reduce risk from common road debris. Large or sharp objects, severe impacts, collisions, and glass stress can still damage the windshield.

Different from tint or coating.

WPF provides an exterior protective film layer. Interior window tint addresses comfort, glare, and appearance. A glass coating primarily supports surface care and water behavior.

Visibility, wear & expectations

What to expect from the film.

Designed for a clear view.

XPEL designs WPF to preserve clear outward visibility and compatible windshield-sensor operation when properly installed. Tell us about unusual equipment or specialty systems before installation.

Slight rainbowing may be visible from outside through polarized sunglasses. Depending on the glass and viewing angle, the film perimeter may be visible on close inspection.

A surface that needs care.

Wipers, dirt, sand, weather, washing, and cleaning wear the film over time. Dirty or damaged blades can scratch it. Normal use may leave marks and eventually call for replacement.

WPF is not a permanent glass surface. It does not come with a universal lifespan or a promise that you will never need windshield repair or replacement.

Care & warranty

How to care for your windshield film.

Follow your care instructions.

  • Follow the initial settling and washing instructions provided at delivery.
  • Keep the windshield and wipers free of dirt, sand, and debris.
  • Check the blades regularly and replace worn or contaminated wipers.
  • Use clean microfiber and approved gentle cleaning products.
  • Avoid abrasive tools, harsh chemicals, and picking at film edges.
  • Use an approved de-icing product instead of ice scrapers or a snow brush on the film.

Follow current XPEL WPF care instructions ↗

Six-month care is included.

Your installation includes a complimentary WPF Restore application at approximately six months. You’ll still need to maintain the film between visits. We’ll explain the recommended schedule when you collect your vehicle.

XPEL product warranty.

Qualifying installations include a 1-year / 12,000-mile limited XPEL warranty for eligible manufacturer defects under the current terms.

The product warranty does not cover every road impact, wiper mark, or normal exterior wear, and it does not guarantee unbreakable glass.

Windshield film questions

Before you schedule.

How much does XPEL windshield protection film cost?

Installation starts at $350 for qualifying short or upright windshields under 60 inches across, and $550 for standard or larger windshields. The exact quote depends on vehicle, glass design, fitment, features, and condition.

Which vehicles qualify for the $350 starting price?

Qualifying windshields under 60 inches across may include Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Ford Bronco, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Lexus GX 550 models. Eligibility is confirmed by model year and windshield design; a model name alone does not confirm the price.

Is windshield protection film installed inside or outside?

XPEL WPF is installed on the outside of the windshield so it receives the first contact from road debris. It is a clear, replaceable protective layer.

Does it stop every chip or crack?

No. A large, sharp, or high-speed object can damage both the film and the glass. Impact force, angle, speed, and existing glass condition affect the result. WPF reduces risk; it does not make the windshield unbreakable.

Is windshield protection film the same as window tint?

No. WPF is a clear exterior film selected for impact-risk reduction. Automotive window tint is normally installed inside the glass for heat rejection, glare control, UV protection, privacy, or appearance.

Will the film affect visibility or windshield sensors?

XPEL designs WPF for clear outward visibility and compatible sensor operation when properly installed. We review specialty systems and aftermarket equipment before installation. Slight rainbowing can be visible from outside through polarized sunglasses, and edges may be visible on close inspection.

Can wipers scratch the film?

Yes. Dirt, sand, and worn or damaged blades can mark the film. Keep the surface and blades clean, check them regularly, and replace worn or contaminated blades. The film takes exterior wear and eventually needs replacement.

How long does windshield protection film last?

There is no fixed lifespan for every vehicle. How long the film lasts depends on your mileage, climate, parking, wiper use, cleaning, and maintenance.

Is the six-month care visit included?

Yes. The installation includes one complimentary XPEL WPF Restore application at approximately six months. That visit is separate from your regular cleaning and maintenance. Follow the current XPEL care instructions between visits. We’ll explain the schedule when you collect your vehicle.

Can you install WPF over a chip or crack?

WPF does not repair or hide chips, cracks, heavy pitting, or scratches. We inspect the windshield first; glass repair or replacement may be needed before film installation.

Can the film be removed?

Yes. WPF is a replaceable exterior layer and can be professionally removed when worn, damaged, or ready for replacement.

What does the warranty cover?

Qualifying installations carry a 1-year / 12,000-mile limited product warranty under current XPEL terms. It covers eligible manufacturer defects, not every road impact, wiper mark, or normal exterior wear. It does not guarantee that the windshield will never chip or crack.

What is excluded from the starting price?

Windshield repair or replacement, correction of glass defects, previous-film removal, and new wiper blades are not automatically included. Unusual access, curvature, specialty features, or additional preparation can change the final quote.

Where do you install windshield protection film?

Installations take place at Kickin’ Customs, 244 North Main Street in Raynham, Massachusetts, serving drivers across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
